So, my slingshot has under 8k miles and has a roof and has always been garage kept. Yet the shift boot is spilt on the folds.
Will polaris cover this?
Second, what would you all recommend as an aftermarket replacement?

They may cover it, but getting them to may be more hassle than it's worth.
This is the one I have, pick the color of the stitching : https://allthingsslingshot.com…for-the-polaris-slingshot
Thank you! (unfortunately the only option for the stitching is black)

Tad bit more expensive : https://www.slingmods.com/pola…ift-boot-by-prp?vehicle=3
I just bought one a week ago from slingmods for the same reason. The upper hole is too small to go over the knob adaptor if you have installed an after market shift knob. If you are using a stock knob - no problem.
Take the adapter off, put the boot on, push the boot down, then put the adapter back on.
That's what I did for mine.
I did that. The hole is about 1/2" max. My adapter is about 1"
I'll take a pic when I get home and post it tomorrow
The stock rubber boot isnt worth a damn - mine was full of cracks the day I brought my slingshot home - all of the vendors sell much nicer replacements and you can even find them on amazon which is where I got mine
My stock boot is still good with no problems since Feb. 12, 2015
And funcycle is still running the original rear tire since 2015. Just kidding. So what you're saying is Red SS boots last longer? Just asking. We know that red SS's are faster. Right?

are you sure? - - sitting there installed my stock boot looked absolutely fine, if I hadnt had to remove it to install a new shift knob I would never had seen the cracks and might still have it. At the time I had planned on reusing the boot with the new knob, but after seeing the damage I decided it would be better to replace it
so slingmods is my best bet...?

either that or slingshotonly.com - they both sell boots at the same price and they both offer color stitching of your choice - - - being in California I pay sales tax with slingmods but the shipping is faster because of less distance so who I order from depends on if my need to have it now exceeds my desire to save a buck
Also you might want to find other items to order so that you get enough to qualify for free shipping - - - - good excuse right

Maybe not, but he could have still been on the same brake pads since he doesn't use that pedal for anything

I think I am on my sixth rear tire and 3 or fourth fronts in 91,000 miles

Check Ebay, they have several options for stitch color, $30.
