Don't do it again....Twice shouldn't hurt.....Shift and get off the clutch fast..IE 'don't ride the clutch....

Are you boosted?

Fortunately, both DDM Works and ZZP now offer heavier duty clutches for the Slingshot.

Thanks. I should have thought to check Hahn since I have their turbo kit already.

NA and 80,000 miles and never smoked the clutch. Not many out there that drive harder than I do. That was why I asked if you are boosted.

I'd think it would take some effort/work to smoke a clutch!

Yes and it is called HORSE POWER

It is tough to roll the disc tight enough to light it, but I'm sure the smell would be bad enough that you'd have to have smoked something else before hand to attempt to smoke the disc

If you ride the clutch/slipping it while accelerating hard , Smoke it will....

Just make sure that you have the clutch pedal completely out before getting on the gas, that is typically what we have seen people do with the Slingshot. Adjusting the seat has helped a couple people, but the steering wheel distance to the seat, being fixed kinda makes it difficult for some people to adjust everything just perfect.. The stock clutch on a naturally aspirated setup will hold up very well and take some abuse and still hold the stock power level. If you did slip it pretty good be gentle on it for a little bit and it should be ok. If you did really burn it up, well you might look at upgrading.
Not really sure how Kyle D defines their clutch as the "best", be interesting to hear that criteria. Our clutches have been installed on this engine and transmission combination since 2007, they are installed in the highest horsepower Slingshots out there, We offer 2 different versions of clutch disc for an easier street driven Slingshot or one with even more grip and lightweight for all out power. Either of our DDMWOrks clutch setups hold all the power the rear tire will grip, but with the smaller diameter of our setup has a lower polar moment of inertia (aka, it reacts faster than bigger heavier setups), ZZP is $.01 cheaper though

Take a look and if you have any questions about the install, just let us know we have done a lot of installs of them. It is pretty straight forward, the engine does have to come out, but that is a lot easier than it sounds on the Slingshot.
Hope that helps,
Dave

I can’t believe this person was allowed to have such a large beverage! Certainly this was not taken in New York !🤪
