https://www.slingshotforums.com/threads/seats.177487/That's a really good deal! I might decide to bite the bullet & purchase a Slingshot. I do like them a lot. I've visited dealerships & have 2nd thoughts when I sit in one. The salesman usually laugh & say you don't look too comfortable. I'm keeping hope alive!

Have you gotten in the seat and driven down the road 50 miles to see what it is like? I just got home from Kerrville, TX rally. I live in La Porte, IN 60 miles from downtown Chicago. Come out for the evening or a little time on the weekend and I'll put you in the seat of my stock 2016 driving down the county back roads for an hour or so and then we'll have a little coffee. If you get in and drive one for a bit you'll have one. One friend here is 6'6" and size 15 shoe and has no problem with his Slingshot.

I was at my dealer a few minutes ago and I think I sold a Slingshot for him.

You should ask for a cut of the commission

If I got a commission --- I wouldn't need to swing a paint brush for gas.... Took a man for a ride in Kerrville and he was at the dealership two days later.

Thanks, I've been behind the wheel of a 2015 model. It wasn't a long ride. I'm sure the ride has changed since then. I've attended a Slingshot event at imotorsports last summer. I didn't feel comfortable asking someone to let me hop in the driver seat of their Slingshot. To let me judge their seats for comfort. I've learned now that the Slingshot family are willing to help.

I do think it's mostly the Slingshot.

I know most want comfortable seats. I'm willing to sacrifice comfort for a little more legroom. If I could sit in the storage compartment, I would I don't see Polaris changing the design to help above average height people. I know you guys & gals are experts at this stuff! Thanks,

An old tip you might already be aware of, but one can just remove the storage compartment door, it snaps right out. You do pick up a little more room for the seatback, not a lot. I have explored a number of possible solutions to pick up more legroom, nothing as of yet that is cost effective and practical. BTW, the 8" they extended for Shaq in that tv series was show only, it would do little for a man of his height, it wouldn't even be enough for me and I'm only 6'3". I heard they would be extending another one for him, don't know if it was ever done. Until a solution is found, the SS for me is for short trips only. (I have a trailer).
-
From Polaris's standpoint, extending the SS would be fairly simple I would think. All wiring to the rear would need to be lengthened, along with the bars going back to the rear and the driveshaft. I doubt it would even affect the weight enough to be over the limit. The expense comes with the cosmetics. The longer side panels, and the lower tub pieces.... having larger dies cut for injection mold would get pricey.
Like I have said before, I wish they would make an XLT (eXtra long Tall) version for us tall guys.

I've heard about removing the compartment door. I've never tried it. I'll give it a shot to see if it helps.

The XLT will be available in 2020 Polaris hold on to secrets better than Harley Davidson. I thought Harley was tight!
