I've already got my 2019 angle drive sold, had someone ping me pretty quickly about it
sweet jeebus lol. If you know of anyone else looking to get one...pass on my info. lol

could the angle drive fail from slope in the u joints?
I have a theory about the angle drive failures.....
first of all when I crawled under mine there was a fluid leak where the cover plate bolts on......the leak is from one of two things.....either the gasket goop wasn’t installed correctly or the case is warping to cause the leak....why would it warp......I’m thinking from heat....now read this article about heat and aluminum....
https://www.thefabricator.com/…-is-too-hot-for-aluminum-
if our angle drive case gets too hot for too long I think it’s becoming brittle and weaker each time it over heats.....and from an earlier picture of a recently failed unit there was what appeared to be a thinner section in the casting than the rest of it......
just my opinion from 20 years of welding. Over heating an item isn’t good and can lead to structural failures.....basically you’re cooking the life out of it. I’ve seen steel that was crystallized from excessive heat while working on an electric arc furnace water cooled brim leak.....the water cooled brim was clogged with dirt preventing the water from circulating and keeping it cool......it couldn’t even be welded....it had to be cut out and patched to get to good solid steel again....if steel can crystallize so can aluminum.
so my guess is any angle drive could Suffer a catastrophic failure under Extended high heat conditions. Could it be from the enough fluid leaking out? Could it be from oil that broke down and couldn’t keep the gears and housing properly lubricated causing heat to build up? Could the castings be warping from too much heat? Could some castings just be junk from the get go? Too many impurities in the aluminum? ....Cheaper grades of aluminum? Cast at an improper temperature? Improperly cooled? Or not annealed correctly?
I think it is just that some units have casting flaws or perhaps they have leaks and get low on oil - The angle drive should not have any more of a heat issue than any other differential and perhaps even less considering it has fewer moving parts to generate heat
Based on looking at the parts diagram of the new 2020 Angle Drive, it certainly looks stronger and reinforced around the front throat where most of the breaks seem to be concentrated. See - Anybody have any idea if the 2020 Angle Drive will fit older models.
Anyone have a used angle drive for sale , asking for a friend with a 2016 who blew it up for the second time..... Dave@DDMWorks , Kyle D

I do not have any at the moment. I JUST sold my spare to someone a couple weeks ago.

I would check with the usual like Bob down at bullet speed 727-809-3256, Jack at underground auto styling 941-706-4000 , or Troy at Trak Hamr 231-620-5379. Hope this helps you track one down.
He has now decided on just buying a new one, thanks for the help
