Not for most... it's just me tinkering
Last year (December) I started on a hood pop that is tied to my Neutrino. I have been using successfully for 8 months now.
It's tied to the Neutrino as an additional safety layer so I never mistakenly hit the "Red" hood button on the side of the dash. So the Neutrino must be active and the circuit must be active (safety first)
Again - this not something that most would ever want or have need for. But it's a gimmick and used for my lazy days.... Don't judge me.
Solenoid operated - pulls a thin steel cable attached to the hood handle.
Solenoid attached with galvanized U bolts.
8 months of testing it.... well over 200 active pops. I think I like it!
The other reason I built it was because by hand or thumb, I have broken two of the plastic hood latch handles opening my hood .... as I become an old fogey I get stronger.
