It's amazing! If you heat up your Nito 555 G2 it gets real sticky and launches hard. Won't be screwing around like this much, could get expensive.
Tires...what are you running?

How does one go about doing that @Slingrazor? Hold the e-brake? Regular brake? Curious...
-
Timing..rapid release of clutch and slide foot from clutch to brake quickly. You will roll forward about 12 inches. Not real good on the brakes or tire.
I was trying to replicate something for a photo, didn't work. While out riding today on a hard launch my wife and son both saw a flame about one foot long coming out the exhaust like the photos DDM has shown with their Supercharger.
I thought it would be a cool photo if I could get the flame with the tire lit up. I think the motor needs to be under a load for the flame to appear. -
And I'm guessing you're slamming the gas?
-
I set the RPM around 3500 and adjust from there. That works for me having a Supercharger.

I used the FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL INDY 500 on my rear and liked it a lot. For the rear tires I do like symmetrical tread patterns for some reason. I did a track day with the tire and had tons of grip.

This one is not the wide oval. It has a different tread pattern.

Yes , I was just commenting that I used a simlair tire. Maybe I should have mentioned I was not comparing the tire just of the brand. I am sure they are pretty close.

OK people here is the numbers I have been looking for. The actual tread width, I am talking about what meets the road. 255-35-20 size The stock Kenda is a full 10 inches. The BFG Comp 2 (not the A/S) is 9 inches. Tire Rack says 10 inches and that is wrong I have my new one installed right now, fronts and rear. The General G-Max AS-03 is 9 inches (the one I just took off to go to SSITS17) If I remember correctly the NITTOS both are 9 inches. I have not bought either one and probably never will. Now remember that I just installed the BFG front and rear no problems yet. BUT for my money and traction wet and dry the General G-Max AS-03 is what I will run from now on. IMHO this is my 2 cent worth

I'm running the G-Max on the rear. I got 9.700 miles out of the Kenda. I have over 10,000 on the G-Max, and it still has a lot of tread left! I've been harder on it than the Kenda, and it does better in the rain too. I'll be sticking with it on mine.
@FunCycle, I love the look of a wider tire. It works well for dry traction, but for wet (or snow, but I'll not have the SS out in that) the narrower one would in most cases do better. Like you, I'm sticking with what works best for me for the money.

The center of my rear tire was looking a little bald after SSITR so I put another Michelin pilot sport A/S 3 +
265/35 ZR18 on yesterday. I am getting about a year out of this one. -
Does the general Gmax come in 345/25/20 @FunCycle.
I do not know, do not have time right now to look it up at Tire Rack. @Goats_Hogs that is why I will not buy any more BFG's I like the General G-Max that much better.

They do not make them that wide. I just looked on the General site.

I am torn between looks and traction

The hell with what looks good, get what works. Are you planning on just looking at the SlingShot?

All, I'm replacing the stock tires and wheels. I haven't seen anyone post any info with anyone trying a drag race tire. The Nitto NT05R looks interesting, but wanted to see if anyone has tried this tire.
Also, I measured my stock wheels and it seems they have an offset of +42. I see a lot of folks talking about a +45. Not sure it makes a huge difference of 3mm more one way or another, but thoughts?

1st.
Symmetrical tire in the rear )31,000 miles on my sling
Fromt tires : general g-max as-05 ( I have been super impressed so far. About 2000 miles now. ). They are very agile steering input. Grip is 100% better then the kendas.
Rear Tire : g-Force Sport COMP-2 A/S. , about 12,000 miles and really happy with the performances on and off the track.
I was thinking of trying the General as-03 in the rear next tire to compare my G-Force.

I'm running the General G-Max AS-03 in the rear. Grip is better than the Kenda by far, and it is better in rain also. I wasn't that hard on the Kenda, as I was breaking it in and did so somewhat easy on it. I got 9750 miles out of the rear. I'm on my 1st G-Max still on the rear, have spun it, pushed the corners, and generally abused it. It still has really good tread left, not close to the wear bars, and it has 15,000 miles on it. I hope they don't discontinue it, as I plan to run nothing else on the rear. I will go with the G-Max AS-05's for the front when I change the rear next time.
