Here is a couple of photos of the one and only Polaris top. At least as far as I know. It's one of Polaris's local engineers. We had our county fair today, and he, or his Slingshot always shows up. Mine is the front
The elusive Polaris top

I have to say In my opinion the best looking top out there
-
Was or is there an explanation for it's delay?...... Just wondering.

The owner himself wasn't there, but I asked him about it a few months ago. He hinted that there were bugs that needed to be worked out but he wasn't specific about it. He's had it for close to a year now, and you'd think that the "bugs" would've been worked out by now. Considering the price point and all the other tops available in the aftermarket, maybe they wised up and decided to spend their money elsewhere. Just my opinion.

Or maybe a bug with the slingshot itself and waiting for the 2018 model to fix those bugs! Clearances not all the same for each model coming off the assembly line, etc? Only thing that makes sense to me.

I can confirm a large varations between SlingShots. It's in an area that they bolt to.
Not saying it is the reason. Only that it would be nice if they fixed it for 2018 models. -
I got tired of waiting for the Polaris top and bought a Madstad Stinger. One of the reasons for buying the 2017 over the 2016 was the hoops that held the top, now i don't need the top mounting hoops holes so I'm trying to figure out something cool to do with them.

About 8 weeks ago, ran into a Polaris employee while I was at the dealership. I asked about the top and he mentioned they thought they had it done but the top failed the last critical test. They had to go back and reconsider / rework a few things. No specifics given as to what failed.

from what i was told. it goes into the frame of the 2017s on. they are comming out looks like 2018. maybe a special model.

Will also fit 15's, 16's & 16.5's, just have to also buy 2017 roll hoops in addition to the top - 2017 roll hoops have threaded holes designed to receive the top...

While I do think it is a decent looking top that blends well with the Slingshot, I seriously doubt it has anywhere near the strength of the other large tub-framed tops such as Twist Dynamics or Bullet Speed.

Just got off the phone with Polaris. He said it is still under development. "They want to get it perfect".lmao...No date set of course. He did say that in 2 weeks they will have an unveiling of new stuff in Las Vegas. Top wasn't one of them.

Hoping to see built in GPS and improved radio along with a better swingarm and I may make the jump! I'm more worried about the reliability than anything, have never been a polaris fan. But I do love the Slingshot! If nothing better in 2018, I may wait for better financing for the 2017 models and get the Midnight Cherry model then. But I do think the polaris top is the best looking one. Not crazy on the prices though, but I like the looks the best on that one.

I had purchased two of these tops and the required hardware and roll hoops to install them. It was a sad day when I cancelled that order.
