How many of you have seen some of the video out of Canada on the truck convoy? I am not seeing anything on our news about it. But it is nothing like Trudeau is talking about on the news that we are seeing. Closing in on 100,000 trucks according to some numbers out there from Canada and the USA, and the highways are lined with people in support.

The new soft word to defund the police appears to be climate justice. I suppose including the word "climate" distorts the process giving it favorable feel-good feeling.

The new pregnant man emoji. On some things I'm behind the times. Unless some new medical procedure is in place, I don't believe it can happen? I wonder if they will ban themselves for spreading false information.

Fantastic. The lady talking in the video sounds to be from old Ukraine or some ex communist country during the soviet union. Just look at the passion she has talking about the subject of freedom etc and she is 1000% right. If you want to learn about communist and restriction of freedom, talk to people that have actually lived under socialism/communism. People need to start fighting back, the time for staying at home hoping for things to get better is long gone.

just to update people. My ex coworker who was a strong anti vax proponent succumbed to the damage caused by the Covid today. Her lungs were completely destroyed by the virus and the lack of oxygen finally killed her kidneys - anyway since I had talked about her condition here before I figured I should give this update

So sorry to hear of your loss. This covid is some bad shit. I had the two doses of Moderna (before the boosters were thought of) and still came down with it. Had to laugh at those experts who called these "breakthrough" cases as being mild. I had two trips to the Urgent care center (no room at the local hospitals to even look at another body) and one 911 call for an ambulance to show up. They said i was "stable" and basically told me to get a my on my own as showing up via ambulance didn't get faster attention and they would be forced to remain there with me for several hours until the hospital took over. Then after some tests, they said I had Covid pneumonia. And mow 6 months later I still have lung nodules which have to be investigated. Damn Chinese labs and their lies

Well, regardless as to which side anyone is on or opinions I hate to hear that. My condolences. I know the path and decline seemed to really bother you as she progressed. Hate to see that outcome.

thank you - - - the one thing that really bothers me with this whole issue is that I don't think there should be "sides" - - I think the politicians and the media created BS sides to divide us and I also believe that this politicizing of something that should be between a person and their doctor has killed people - - including my friend.
Right - Left? Pro-Vax - Anti-Vax - - - - - they dont give a flying fuck about you and me - - - all they care about is dividing us so that they can keep and grow their power and control - - - anyone that thinks the media and politicians on "their side" are good and right and that the media and politicians on "the other side" are evil and wrong is a fool - - - that is the trick they want us to fall for, that is the illusion they want us to believe - - - - - - - every damn one of them is nothing but a manipulative user that survives by leaching power and money from people like you and me
personally I am fed up with it - - everything in this country seems to have become about "sides" and politics and it is killing the country that I grew up loving and believing was actually "for the People" - - - - - that's long gone - - -there is no more "for the people" in any part of our government - - - its long gone and I'm done thinking that if I side with the political whores in either side of our F'd up two party system that anything will ever change
Anyway - forgive my venting - - what happened to my friend has me very angry - not meaning to put it on anyone here - I love you all, but needed to get it out.

Couldn't we have asked Ukraine if they wanted all that equipment? I'm sure they would have been there before the sunset and took it all out in less than 48 hours. That would have been a better choice than leaving it to our enemies AND sending NEW equipment to Ukraine a few months later

Lowering carbon emissions is a good thing. Doing it in a way that is reasonable is a great thing. Notice Xi realizes the connection between energy security, supply chain security and food security all of which are affecting us today along with inflation. While at the same time our current administration spins its wheels claiming there is nothing they can do.
Xi just this week said that China's ambitions of hitting low-carbon goals should not come at the expense of "normal life," claiming that such energy cuts might risk food and other everyday securities. Xi told party leaders late on Monday that China needed to "overcome the notion of rapid success," The Guardian reported.
"We must stick to the overall planning and ensure energy security, industrial supply chain security and food security at the same time as cutting carbon emissions," Xi said, indicating the reliance on gas and oil will not go away - providing Russia its much-needed backdoor.
