Hey guys,
so got the OK from the wifey to get my next mod, the headers, So i'm now debating which to get. the polished or non polished.
Is there pictures of both so I can compare side by side please? Also, how is the discoloration over time with head cycles? Which looks better vs worse?
Thanks!

Thanks!Do not bother spending the extra money on the polished exhaust header. If I could remember the how too's on posting pictures I could show you what the polished looks like after about 15,000 miles.

Thanks! You should make your decision on which header to get based on what future mods you dream. If you plan on getting boosted then certain headers fit where others don't.

Aw hell what fun is it if you don't do things twice - plus we need to keep @MiM in gently used mods.
I have 2 shelves in my shop OEM take offs and first generation mods.
Recycled most of the first gen stuff locally -
Thanks Mitch!
Whatcha got??? Anything for me???

Nothing at the moment - the last wrench day cleared my first generation mods
Mostly all I have is OEM stuff like everyone else - got rid of some last yea at SSITS and somehow I have more? -

I was checking slingmods and polished and non polished are same price so thats why i was wondering which to go with. been trying to google pics of polished after heat cycle but not been lucky.
for future mods, honestly i'm not gonna do FI on this motor, it's too crappy to get high HP unless I do a rebuild. My future plans is a swap and/or maybe something more.
Just not a fan on this motor when it comes to FI -
I ended up with the titanium header version - not 100% sure why, but I did.
The bolt hole closest on the block side is not accessible by a ratchet so it takes a while of 1/4 turns to tighten it down.
Colored up nicely.

If you don't want the blue/amber look, you can always look into having it ceramic coated. I'm really surprised that no one offers this on the headers as an option. I had a set of ceramic coated stainless Hookers (groans at the direction @Tripod could take that) on a '67 GTO clone I owned. They never blued, looked like new (still do, 17 years later as i saw the car last summer) and kept the heat down under the hood.

Here is the Alpha after blueing. I am not sure I've seen the "polished", if I have it blues the same.
I love the look of the Titanium in person. @Live-a-Little! if you just happen to get it, you are one lucky dog. IMO the Titanium looks the best.

Had great intentions to Jet Coat my header this winter but other mods got in the way. It will be a must next winter. I contacted Jet Coat and received an estimate of 220.00 for the shinny finish.

.
Whichever you choose degrease the header before installing it then wipe it down a couple times with Windex after installation and before the first start (and again if you ever put your hands on it) when you remove all oils and fingerprints before heating it up it will blue much more evenly .... IMO the polished and not look the same after a few months unless you regularly re-polish ... the polished just gives you a head start ...

He'll have a slightly used 400 HP engine as soon as his 500 HP one is installed

I plan on putting the 400hp in my zero turn mower - work may as well be fun

ok so from reading this, no diff between polished and non polished.
i do/would like that nice blue-ish effect that occurs and always thought it was because of polished that caused it. if it doesnt matter then that is good to know.
if the price is the same, would you guys go with polish (at least in the short run its shines -
Why not get a "head start" as @Orangeman said? May as well get polished.
