What are the options for a Chain upgrade to replace the Belt drive? Anyone have links to different versions? Anyone installed one?
Chain Upgrade

I have not seen a machine with a chain drive...

Envy motoring down in Florida has one. It's completely custom. Unified performance had one on theirs too. But, they have since disappeared.

Interesting. Learning something new.

Follow up thoughts, no issues with rain from a belt. No need to clean or lubricate a belt. Belt is rated for 150,000 miles.
-
I thought the belt was rated for 50,000 miles?

Nope. I actually don't think Polaris even has a scheduled replacement mileage.

Freaking noisy and not at strong. And you usually have wear on the chain drive. Every Slingshot that i have seen has had teeth missing on one of the sprockets. I am shoving 500hp thru my belt and never had an issue. My belt has 20,000 miles on it and is perfect...
Think about this. Have you ever seen a new Boss Hoss with chain drive? Nope

Put a chain on my bicycle...
And my neck...
And my girls...
And... Okay, I'll stop... -
I love that it's spelled chane in the post title. That's exactly the way I feel about a chain driven slingshot. Slightly off.

Aint it bad luck to break a chain - yo know like breaking a chain letter.
I don't know I remember stretching and breaking a lot of chains on dirt bikes and they didn't have any where near the power we have.
I remember there was one chain drive bike at an event it was noisy -
And this is why I start my morning here! Happy!!!

Any link to where to purchase these kits? I am not necessarily ready to buy one. However, I just wanna review options for my trial and error set up. I am doing 1/4 mile runs with a slick so it will be different than normal driving conditions. We will find out this friday if my belt slips/skips a tooth. That is why I am just doing research.

Looking for a "link" - I see what you did there...
-
I seriously doubt that you can buy this in a kit. It has to be custom. The big question here is why would you want to? That tank has to be an oiler. Just think of that mess. It would be a supply and demand thing and I sure don't see enough Slingshot owners demanding one of these.

You won't slip the belt. Heat up that slick good and light the VHT on fire and get it sticky. Your weak link is going to be the final drive or the transmission I fear. I hope not. If it last through a bunch of launches then I'll feel better about my setup
