8.5 x 18 is the smallest for Sling?
you could do a 16' ft. as well. Just a little smaller without the V-Nose I believe.

Yes brother I am tech challenged.
I've got one of these on order for towing the SS (below)..When I first read your post I wasn't sure if you were looking for info on trailer to tow SS with or tow behinds for the SS. Given the new frame mounted hitches for the SS, towing up to 1500 lbs may not be out of the question and small travel trailers with normal amenities may be possible like the Scamp.
I've checked out a few online and there areplenty of great ones to choose from. BUT I'm sure there are others (like me)who don't have or want to have a large truck that has the ability to tow a 24foot tandem axel enclosed trailer. I've heard of some owners who may beregretting their choice of a single axe; light-weight one that has started tobend or break. There has to be a good compromise in the middle where areasonable equipped family car is able to tow their slingshot loaded on asingle axel trailer weighing in under the magical 3,500 pound figure. 2,800 pounds (loaded) would be great to find, but not mandatory
The single axle slingcave has a 3500 lb dexter with electric brakes on a strong aluminum frame and comes in at 1100 lbs. Which will meet your criteria. All aluminum trailers tend to be more expensive. The open Aluma is around $5500. The open aluminum SlingThing trailer starts at $3995 fairly well equipped and made specifically for the SS. The SlingCave is $7495.
I went with a 7x14 Sur-Trak open trailer. I sold my dump trailer and still wanted something that a can use to haul stuff other than the Slingshot. I figured I could add three - 5/4 decking as removable sides to carry mulch, dirt, stone, lumber and other things for the yard. Cost was $2750 plus mounting hardware which I installed and Race Ramp extenders.
I have the ALUMA 8218 with rock guard. It is pricy ($7200 w/guard) but is well worth the money if you are gonna trailer you Sling a lot. Dual axle plus fenders come off and tilt makes loading a breeze. Light weight and pulls very easily behind my Ford F-150.
I have seriously been thinking about a toy hauler sometime in the future...or @Bill Martin I can move to Casa de Martin and we can get one of those double decker dohickies!!!

Mi casa es su casa Sis!!!! Come on - I'll leave a light on for ya

WELL, I NEVER had planned on getting a trailer since I bought the slingshot to RIDE and not tow to events. But there's this crazy guy in Lake Charles that's been after me to follow him as he criss-crosses the country towing his slingshot. You know me, and how hard it is to say no.
7'X14' will work. But you need to know that if you go with aftermarket wheels, you severely reduce your clearance from about 2" to about 1/4" on the outside of each wheel. Just enough room to screw up your rims if you are not careful. Trust me on this one. I have a 7X14 trailer, with (3) custom 7' ramps. Ramps are steel and heavy as hell. With the stock wheels, I had plenty of room to comfortably load the Sling by myself. Notice I said "had plenty of room." I moved up to aftermarket wheels...I will now be installing a rubber film/mat on the side rails and fender walls to make sure I don't screw up my wheels...any more. And don't run a strap through the rear tire, without placing some type of material between the rim and the strap. I sustained no damage on my first trip, and have since discontinued the use of that particular strap. The over-the-wheel tiedowns are sufficient. Price - a little over $2560.
@MACAWS, what was the name of those super-whamodyne lightweight ramps you use for your trailer?
They are made by Race Ramps - Car and Auto Ramps for Service, Loading and Display - Race Ramps
They can even make custom ramps if needed
