SW FL represented on the Road to Nowhere, Smoky Mtns Park, outside Bryson City, NC ShortShifter and Norma; Ron and Karen, me and Donna drove up Sunday straight thru to rental cabin. Rode the park Monday, went to Helen, GA for Octoberfest, Tuesday; did the Tail of the Dragon and Cherlota Skyway yesterday. Short trip today due to rain. Dodging rain tomorrow heading back south. Some pics to share.
As Bill Martin would say we did our share of leaf lookin'

Going no where today in Sally. Going to have the paint gun in hand. Got to finish the front of the house before the rains come Thursday and Friday. Got to start calking as soon as the Sun comes up. The part of the job I dislike the most, well that and clean up. 47 degrees out a lovely Florida morning, not.

Ahh, 47 degrees in Kissimmee. I remember those days. Everyone bundled up in their heaviest coat(s), stocking caps pulled over the head, gloved and walking huddled over. I would put on a sweater and open the windows for a few minutes.

If it gets much colder, I might have to go out and buy some pants. having 11 1/2 months a year of wearing shorts doesn't make you want to put pants on unless you have to go to a funeral or wedding. Oh, or packing to go on a cruise whenever those days return

I’ve seen the men in Florida wearing shorts….
HARD PASS -
I avoid wearing big boy pants as much as possible. We could wear shorts at work when I worked for the school board and I have been outside all day pulling cable when it was in the low 30s.

Here are some snaps of some of the MANY container ships anchored offshore AND all the cranes just sitting- nobody working the docks. … -
took the back road home from Vegas - its over 30 minutes shorter, but most of it is a dead zone as far as cellular service goes - - dont like going that way at night probably saw fewer than 5 cars the whole way home. but in the day its the best way to go

Halloween on Fremont Street is definitely an experience, I was out there a couple years ago for SEMA and it was over a Halloween night, we all had a good time just hanging out and people watching that night, it was like watching a train wreck all night

Absolutely! great place for people watching. Been to Vegas a bunch of times in my life, but the last time I actually made it over to the downtown area it was still just a normal street - - seeing the transformation into a walking area and the 3d light show in the arched overhead was impressive - really glad we checked it out and Halloween was the perfect time - - - Now I am good without seeing Vegas for at least 5 or 10 years
Don't gamble, don't drink, wife is a retired tables game dealer as such casinos and most of Vegas is not something that excites us very much - - perhaps next years Slingshot event
