32 here I stayed in bed. Might go to the indoor range later if it warms up some.
Where Did You Take Your Slingshot Today?

Made it out for breakfast this morning... Just a little ride as it was only 36 degrees.
Tougher than me but it was 24 here this morning.
-
Definitely not a riding weather here even if I would be done with my mods

MACAWS maybe someday “I’ll take the last train to Clarksville” ( remember that song? ) and see what Virginia has to offer. I was born in Morgantown WVA so perhaps I should revisit my roots. Not sure if it will happen but from time to time my wife and I have spoken about how cool it would be to ride all the way through the south then north up 95 and then back round to California especially through the Black Hills. Who knows maybe someday we’ll make it to Maggie Valley! Hope so. In the meantime we’ll just keep showing off the Southwest and baiting that hook😎
The Black Hills area is beautiful. You will, of course go to Mt Rushmore. Then Crazy Horse. Then the loop in Custer State Park with the single wide tunnels. My family has been there 4 or 5 times. The last time was 18 months ago, while I still was in a sling from rotator cuff surgery. It was a gathering of my wife's niece (from Verntura) and three nephews (one from La Mirada) at Keystone. Best week ever.
If you go across on Interstate 90, go thru the Badlands. Take the Minute Man missile silo tour. (The blast door has a picture of a Domino's pizza box and the slogan "We Deliver in 30 Minutes or Less. SPOOKY when you think about what they had to "deliver".) Of course you WILL stop at Wall Drug. Do not miss Wall Drug. The Corn Palace in Mitchell SD is a nice couple of hours.
When on 90, you will cross Highway 63 near Rochester MN. Look south and wave. We are 75 miles south on 63.

Wow! Great guidance and thank you! Those are some places I had not heard of or were considered along the way. I am just now starting to get acquainted with the ride command and its possibilities with programming so that would be cool

I might follow you two down toward Ocala as the guy that owns the indoor gun range I shoot at has a new indoor range down there I would like to see.
Where at? I'm not too far from Ocala. Wondered how difficult (and expensive) it would be to open an indoor range...

No clue but I’d be willing to bet that liability insurance would be rather spendy!

What could go wrong??

@ echoraven I will find out the owner of the range here wanted me to buy into the range he was building there. Had I lived close enough I might have done so. You can bet insurance is high and also the cost to meet the air quality that you must meet in a indoor range. The air handling equipment he has here is unbelievable you can see any gun smoke being sucked out quickly. I will send you the address of the place when I get it.

A couple thoughts from the prepper handbook unwritten chapter:
Build it at home.
Build it underground.
Don't tell no one!
Only invite like-minded friends who have your back.
Have fun! gunsmiley.gifgun_bandana.gif
And hey, hey, hey, let's be careful out there...

SlingLow I had a friend when I grew up in Iowa had a large culvert bury in his back yard that opened into his basement. It worked but we all probably got a high level of lead in our blood.
I could tell you stories about a couple of installations I put in but I have to wait for several people to die first. I'm one of them.
Seriously, I wouldn't want the regulatory hassle of running a range for profit. It might be easier to rob a bank. If anyone is interested I have an excellent plan - for the bank robbery.

We do have a member that owns a shooting range I believe, but I'll let him join in the conversation if he chooses to. I don't think he is on here daily.
-
Honestly, I can’t stand indoor ranges. Only been twice in my entire life. I much prefer being out in nature.
On a side note, people that don’t pick up their $h1t really piss me off...

Never been to an indoor range and I haven't been to a public outdoor range for 30+ years. I prefer to be left unsupervised.
I usually shoot in the woods but have had some epic sessions in the Nevada desert. The wife and I take these junkets to Wendover, NV where they fly us in to a former military training base on a private jet and we spend 3 days gambling and eating at the local casinos. My buddy would drive out from South Jordan (near Salt Lake City) with a trunk load of shit and we'd terrorize all manner of targets for an afternoon. Now he lives in Idaho so we probably won't do that again.

I hear there are outdoor ranges all over Chicago .. ( opps wrong thread!)

I have an out door range in the back yard, out to 300 yards.

My dad was a trucker and drove into Detroit once. The cop pulled him over and asked if he had a gun. When my dad said no, the cop gave him one.
