I would like to say thank you to @Dave@DDMWorks @Jeff@DDMWorks and Ivy who turned our SlingRazor into the rocket we always wanted.
While at SSITS DDM Works provided us with a unique opportunity to get some great visibility for the Slingshot. We were late on making a decision at SSITS to talk with DDM about their supercharger, Saturday night late. After discussing the possibility of an install, Dave came up with the idea to install the supercharger at an event in Springdale Arkansas. The really cool part is what the event was, the National Pontiac Solstice Rally.
After the long three week wait we made our journey to Springdale to have it installed.
My take on the install.
The installation kit has been meticulously constructed to make the installation fairly straight forward.
All hardware was packaged in a way that it was easy to understand what was used in conjunction with its associated part.
The fit and finish of each part was perfect, there was no need to manipulate, cut, or grind anything.
No special tools were required beyond what is probably in a majority of our tool boxes.
The only electrical item in the kit is a new Air Temp Sensor that replaced the stock one. (mine was soldered to the harness where the stock one was located)
The fit of the mounting bracket for the Supercharger and pulley system is very well designed.
The tune for the system is provided by Bob @MEFIburn. One thing I would like to pass on is how good the ECU work from Bob is. At SSITS before we decided to purchase the Supercharger, Bob updated my ECU tune. The NA tune he installed was a big improvement over the stock tune. When the throttle was depressed it was like you were stepping on butter. The pull was strong and constant to red line. If you are at a high rpm and you step off the throttle the engine does not jerk as it slows down, once again smooth. I was unaware how much the tune improved the performance of the SS until I installed a temporary ECU provided by DDM while mine was being re tuned for the Supercharger. I didn't like driving it.
Part of our install included the powder coating of the charge tubes to match the blue. Since we had such a short turn time from purchase to installation, they were not complete. DDM will be shipping them to me over the next week or so and I will be sending their black ones back to them.
My initial driving impression is WOW. The linear pull of the supercharger matches my driving preference. I'll post video of the acceleration soon.
THANK YOU DDM for the OUTSTANDING SERVICE and a GREAT PRODUCT.
