Good point - men love the smell of Hoppes No 9 - my bride absolutely hates the smell and yet her eucalyptus, persimmon, apple, cucumber combined face cream smells wonderful - again men from Mars women from ?????????????? Venus .. maybe
I guess shaving cream might work I your AR has a hair trigger. I have a AR15 I built for bench rest shooting but think I will skip the shaving cream. I shoots 1/4" groups at 100yds and uses a Bob Sled not a mag so is load single shot. Lets me load rounds longer then the mags will take improving head spacing.
Here is what I typically carry...Ruger LCP on the left is my "work gun". Sig P238 on the right is my casual daily.
My wife went to work with me once (I'm a plumber) as I bent over she whispered to me, "your gun is showing "... I replied, "good they probably won't question the bill"
Maybe she wasn’t looking at the firearm...

Really informative article! Thank you.
I recently got a friend to purchase a firearm for protection. She was worried that her 22 was too weak and I told her that a weapon that is more comfortable for her to shoot will make it easier for her to land more rounds on target.

That is good info! I would have liked to see the .22magnum covered but I'm guessing he didn't have enough data on that caliber.
My take on this is that hits are more important than caliber as echoraven said in his previous post.
Looks like my constant companion, a little NRA 22LR, isn't that bad after all. And, my door pocket .22 revolver isn't bad, either.
Both are last resorts after hiding, running, or just staying the hell out of bad situations before they go bad.

so, just so long as we double tap we should be good
works for me
.....
.
also of interest to me personally would be where my 9mm carbine might fall in his testing - yes it is 9mm pistol caliber, but it also is going to have the higher velocity associated with the much longer barrel
Yea - - never mind
double tap - - - that should work
It all boils down to use what you can shoot well. Don't count on one shot being enough and you need to be able the get that second and maybe third shot off quickly and on target. Pocket pistols are fine and sometimes that is the only way you can carry but they require practice so you can make your shots count. I watch people at the range shooting at 5 yards a a full size bad guy target and never even hit the carboard it is attached to. I only hope if I am ever attacked it is one of those people shooting at me.
This is what my target looks like on a rapid fire defense shoot I did.

YES SIR!! Hopefully if ever attacked this guy is the one holding the pistol …
😬😬😬
I must admit I have never understood why some idiots think they should hold a hand gun sideways - like they think it looks cool or something
you would think that with just a little practice they would figure out that it really isnt the best way
oh well - I guess its better for the rest of us

That is the way you are supposed to shoot because that is the way it came out of the box.

isn’t there a movie “matrix or something “ where they sling the bullet around people LOL, I did see it in a movie so it must be true.
That's the movie.
