I’m looking for set of high performance tires strictly for warm dry use and max grab! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!
Summer Dry High Performance Tire Recommendations

Stay away from the NITTO 555 then, the least amount of traction of the 6 different tires that I have run. For me it would be the new General AS series or the Riken Raptor which I think has the best traction of any tire that I have run and is on Sling II right now.

I use Pirelli P1s. Love them.

Base or SL? (or what sizes are we talking since not all brands are available in 17, 18, and 20's)

Michelin PS4's are awesome!

Yep, can't beat the Pilot Sport 4's

The Toyo T1R is a great summer tire. If price doesn't matter look into the Toyo R888R or if you want a drag radial out back look into the Micky Thompson ET Street SS or the Nitto NT05. The NT05 and the R888R need to get some heat in them before they get really sticky so keep that in mind if you go that route. The MT is always pretty grabby and heats up fast. You'll get the most wear out of the T1R out of that list. The MT gets good wear for a drag radial and the R888R and NT05 wear pretty quickly but they are sticky.

Not to derail another thread, but how you feeling Kyle? Any improvement?

Feeling great actually. I can smell coconut and that is about it and I can taste sesame, peanut butter, and whoppers but not much else. The odd thing about the whoppers is I can taste the malt but not the chocolate. Soooooo based off my new diet of whoppers and peanut butter, I should be about 350lbs by the time I get to Maggie. Gonna need a wider race seat I think. One of the girls here at ZZP baked chocolate fudge brownies in our kitchen yesterday. Couldn't taste a thing. Didn't stop me from eating it though. lol I mean I had to test it in the name of science.

Two more pounds of boost and you'll never notice the added ballast. Peanut butter and Chocolate is the best, so I'm sure adding some coconut into the mix will taste just as good. Glad there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe you can get Mitch to buy you a couple of Sonic Corn Dogs in MV.

This was the one I was going to recommend. The R888R is amazing.

Michelin seconded by Pirelli P1

I have used both of the following tires with good results
BFG Sport Comp 2 and Bbridgestone Pole Position S-04

The Toyo R888R is the best tire we have ran for all out grip on the road, we are in south carolina though, so temps are usually good for running that tire. Another tire you might check out is the Bridgestone RE-71R, we have used that at the track several times and it grips really well, not quite as good as the Toyo R888R, but close and it lasts a lot longer. Tires will always be a tradeoff with Cost, wet/dry traction, noise, longevity all being some of the factors that you have to weigh the importance of when choosing the right tire for you.

Dave, just wondering. Did they say anything about you running the Slingshot without any mirrors? (or did I just not see them in the pics)? I'm sure there were a LOT of Slingshots behind you, but none of them were getting close enough to see anyways. Just wondering what equipment theyr equire besides the basic safety ones

Did you notice that it had no hood either?

Yup. Probably no brakes either. I didn't see them being used much if he did have them

We rented the track for the entire day, so we could set whatever safety rules we wanted, within reason anyway. There were only 6 Slingshots out at a time on the track, so no real problem staying separated out there, the lack of mirrors was no issue, no wheel to wheel racing.
