Rear Caliper repair

Can this be repaired or will I need a new caliper? The ebrake bracket bolt broke.
-
My first question is how did that happen......... and my next is where are you located.....
And yes the bolt can be extracted but its a time consuming job and must have the right drill bits....

Home Depot has the drill bit to extract that bolt. There are videos on YouTube that show you how to do it, then off to Ace Hardware to find an exact replacement bolt. Ask me how I know... 🙄

Not the e-brake bolt, but I've been in that predicament before... lol

Start of with a left hand twist drill bit of the right size
-
Thanks I’ll give it a try. This is how it should look

Some up close pictures after I removed all the brackets. Not sure if this is like a stud with treads on both ends. Maybe a should not have said “bolt”.
-
Uh oh, now its looking like a stud ONLY with threads only for the nut.......if im correct than here you go.......
https://www.cheapcycleparts.co…-caliper-rear-all-options
But from looking at that diagram it looks like its not attached, so maybe a pair of vise grips will remove it, worth a try IMHO

Did this happen while driving or removing it......
-
I just found a rebuild video for a caliber. That part is the hand break mechanism. And has to be removed from the inside.

while removing it. Like a dummy 🤦🏾♂️ This is the video of a similar looking caliper.
-
Well that video shows you its Doable......
Its looking like item no5 in the middle and the price is the same for a new complete caliper, im guessing no rebuild kit
-
Start a new thread "Anyone know how to obtain a rebuilt kit for REAR CALIPER" , Never know some of the more experience members on here might come thru.....

I would post that you need a rear caliper - I am willing to bet that someone who has done a big brake upgrade has one collecting dust. You can also reach out to Dave@DDMWorks - I bet there are a few in his shop he would be willing to sell.
