Steel??
I just ordered a steel pointed set for $49.99 (2 piece lug nuts)
I just ordered these - 20pc 12x1.25 Bulge Black Lug Nuts - Acorn Closed Ended - 19mm or 3/4" Hex | eBay. I originally ordered chrome lug nuts from a different vendor, but bought new ones when I realized how the black looked so much better on my wheels.
Anyone ever heard of Volk Racing? They appear to have a good quality set of lug nuts, but not sure of the brand.

Well after a pretty extensive search I came across these. I like how they look and seem to be the best bang for the buck for what I am looking for. We shall see....
20 Pc Set Spline tuner Lug Nuts ¦ 12x1.25 ¦ Blue for Nissan Suzuki | eBay
Glad I found this post. I scored some SLR wheels and figured it was the perfect time to upgrade the lugs.
Ordered the red NRG lugs for a little flair and they were peeling when I receive them so I send them back.
I went to the local auto parts store and got some chrome ones. After taking the original ones off and comparing them to the chrome ones I had the same concerns that are going on here.
I went ahead and put them on anyway. They seem to be doing fine but I just wanted to double-check.
Have y'all been having any trouble with the aftermarket ones? Everything I've found have the smaller shoulder.
@ODDJob's post caused me to go check my original Polaris lug nuts, the Chrome Ebay lug nuts I'm using now and the new Black EBay lug nuts I bought to replace the Chrome. They all vary in shoulder depth as shown in the attached pic.
I ordered the Black lug nuts after I mounted the Chrome lug nuts and realized I preferred Black over Chrome. Now I may need to look for some new Black lug nuts with larger shoulders. I would think having the correct 60 degree shoulder angle is the most important factor, followed by the contact length of the shoulder are the most important factors. I think I would now prefer a longer contact shoulder length.
Engineers always like to "over" engineer but bean counters like to cut corners. I would bet that the stock wheels had that length shoulder for a reason. Can we get by with less? Probably, but I bet if you asked a polaris engineer they'd say NO. jes my .o2
The mechanic engineering nerd in me couldn't leave this alone.
I had to figure out what was the scoop on these nutz.
The lug type the SS comes with is called "bulge".
Most of the ones that everyone has found, including myself, are "tuner".
So I'm changing them out now.

Get whatever works and get the vinyl covers in whatever color that you like to fit over them. I have painted two sets of center caps red and black with the silver SS in the middle and also have the nut covers in red and black. Now I can have a different color combination four days in a row.
I actually like the way the chrome looks.
I'm going to keep it that way.
Just trying to help out with what I figured out.
I always put Stainless Steel on. But I have not found them for the SS yet.
