Body shop

They sell touch up paint..if they aren’t that bad..
-
unless you find a body shop that has experience removing the Slingshot body panels, you might be better off removing the panels yourself as the body shop may want to charge extra for panel removal and the associated risk of damaging the panels. If you follow @Painter's video, it's not that hard if you're careful and take your time.

I went to a collision repair shop today and they wouldn't touch anything on my sling. They sent me to Mobile Innovations who knew a guy that knows a guy who does touch them.
-
My dealer did paint my hood inserts and right now he is painting the fender from Mark @StickerDick

Makes me wonder just how bad the panels are? Are we talking about a color change or some touch up work?
-
Touch up work.

Did they say why they didn't want to touch it? Disassembly, perhaps?
-

Does Polaris sell spray bomb touch up paint?
I have the tiny bottles but need a spray bomb...
Well, I was able to find the answer to my question.
Polaris does sell 10 oz spray cans at about $26 each.....now the kicker....they make you buy 2.
-
Ok I got my touch up paint in fast titanium gray from Polaris.
Had to buy 2 cans according to the parts guy at $27 each.
Stopped at the paint store to ask them a few questions. They don’t know if the paint is base coat or lacquer.
The parts guy can’t find any info about it either.
Then I asked them why the other paint I got from them cracked.
They have no answers.
So does anyone know why this paint cracked?
The gel coat on the fiberglass is not cracked. Just the paint. The paint guys said they never saw anything like that. And he could stick his fingernail in the clear coat.

is that the fender you got on e-bay?
-
It sure looks like a catastrophic paint failure

I’m pleading the fifth .....
-
Why PLEAD the fifth when it's a whole lot better to DRINK the fifth?
-
Since this is the third time painting this fender...I’m changing my name to “painter”
He’s going to have to find a new handle,...sorry.
-
it's more likely that you change your name to Painter wannabe. The difference being that our Painter gets it right the first time!!!
-
No disrespect directed at painter was intended.....just much respect
I think the base paint never dried....it was hazy, hot and humid when I last painted it. That must have screwed up the curing process.
The paint shop recommended keeping the fender cooler before, during and after. I didn’t want to paint it in the garage but I don’t think I have another option.
