Took out the grill last night and painted it red. Will reinstall this morning. Will post pics then. MiM - the side inserts are so easy to make. Give it a try!!
Trying to make front covers - below headlights

Looks good, you could make some money if you wanted, I'd buy a set.

Thanks for the compliment. If you enjoy DIY, I can send you the “plans”. And EjFord - I painted the grill. Looks better with it being red.

I do and I would appreciate the plans.

Actually all I have is shown in the pics at the start of this thread. First thing to do is make a template by holding cardboard (or similarly rigid and easily cut material) in place on the SS and trace an outline and cut it until it fits perfectly. Then transfer the pattern to the aluminum. I left a 3/4” perimeter and center strip. Let me know if I can assist further with other pics.

I like the grills @lowlander but I really think you need some kind of screen around that toilet.

It is on its way to the landfill!! And thanks to being a snowbird, the snowblower further in the background has not been used in several years!!

Fini!!! Still undecided about the colour though. It is easily changed, so it won’t be an issue.
Nice job!
Got this in my email this morning ...
Seriously... $425?
-
But it is a sale!! Seriously though - commercial product develoment takes $$ and time. I have little of the first, and plenty of the latter!!
-
@lowlander how do you like driving at night without the two middle lights? And if I may ask, what lights did you put on front? Looks good on front end . I think I would accent frame of screen in red and gray for screen. It still looks good just my 2$
JUST SAYINAre you going to MV? If so hope to meet you there.

Funny thing is...$425 is the best price I have ever seen on any similar product. There are some jokers out there selling them for double that.

No to MV. It is a long way from Nova Scotia, and I just got here (home) from wintering in Florida. Trailered my SS to and from Fl. My SS is Canadian. So it came with only the two outer lights. I have never driven with the center lights. However, behind my grill is a LED bar (16” as I recall) I installed when I picked up the SS from my dealer. The eyebrow lights above the headlights are LED cool white strips (about $18 for a 16’ roll on Amazon). They are switched along with red tail light LED strips at the rear and amber LEDs on each mirror. Below the headlghts are amber LED strips that supplement the directional lights. Similar amber strips are at the rear along side the red tail light strips.

On sale now for $399 @
SSO...I’m this close to jumping on them....

Update. Changed the insert material.
-
so what is the insert material made of now and what did you use to make the frame where the insert goes on
-
They are scary cheap to make. About $10. An aluminum “frame” cut (with a circular saw) from a derelict highway sign. The mesh is from a dollar store and is a bbq grill. They are held together with aluminum pop rivets. 1/2” angled aluminum (Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc) is riveted to the perimeter of the frame. Attached to the SS with short stainless steel self tapping screws.

frehlveycomet - check out the first few posts in this thread. More detail is there, but as noted a few posts ago, I changed the insert material to a more open mesh.
