I guess Chris Rock was unaware of the trauma Jada experienced as a result of her hair loss that started back in 2018 and the joke about appearing in GI Jane 2 might have gotten to her. Didn't watch the awards show, but I did see a short video about Will's response.Chris looked a little surprised, but the slap didn't really look all that violent to me.
having seen the video a few more times, it does look like there was some power behind the slap, but it still looks to be less than a balled-fist would have delivered.

Pull his OSCAR, ban him from all future awards programs.

Demi looked great with a shaved head, as does Jada (or whatever the f*ck her name is) so I don't see the insult.

Here's my viewpoint: She was rockin' that shaved/bald head. If she was truly embarrassed/ashamed of her issue, she would have covered it up with a wig. . . . Just Sayin'.

Women seem to be more negatively impacted psychologically by alopecia than men. Jada has been quite public about her hair loss. If Chris Rock knew she had a medical condition, his joke would be in the same poor taste as jokes about the handicapped.
As a child, I sometimes referred to one of my Brothers as a"retard" because he had cerebral palsy and was in special ed. He eventually refused to go to special ed classes and insisted in attending school with the rest of us. Other than being hard to understand when he spoke, he excelled and earned top grades, often better than the rest of us. He applied himself more than the rest of us and had a gift for farming and would have eventually taken over the family farm, if not for a tractor accident. He was trying to help Dad get a tractor push-started down a hill, but hit only one brake pedal instead of both at the same time. The tractor rolled on top of him and he died a short time later. I was stationed in West Berlin with the Army Security Agency at the time and that trip was the only time I ever flew space-A that I had to wait more than a few hours before catching a hop. After 2 long days of waiting, we finally caught a flight, but ended up in Charleston, SC w/o any flights to WV until the next day, possibly missing the funeral. I was about to spend all of the cash I had to charter a private plane to get to the funeral, but the pilot called the airlines and got us on a flight to Ohio early the next morning and the back to Lewisburg, WV, arriving at the airport 45 minutes before the funeral was to start. After witnessing my Brother's accident, my Dad became a complete PITA to work with as he became paranoid about losing anyone else. When using chainsaws, for example, he always cautioned us to never operate the saw with the chain positioned such that it could hit some one if it broke, but he always seemed to forget his own words when he had one the saws!
