Back in the late 70's we raced late-models and that was the platform we used. We had 5 or 6 behind the shop we scavenged for body parts. Short track racing can be rough on bodies. Especially when your driver is convinced you can go 3 wide into turn 1. I have a picture of that car in my shop. We were a bunch of misfits but the guy we worked for was an amazing mechanic and car builder. He was also crazy!

That is a very fair price for that. Super low miles. My first one was a 73 and I caught a glimpse of one in a walkaround video at Maple Motors. I'm sure Nick will post a video of it on YouTube this week.

40 degrees here so sitting watching football game and reading the supercharger install documentation for the second time. Fairly straight forward but I'm sure I will have some suggestions when I'm done with the install. Just getting ready for January install.

Why wait, just go ahead and maybe you could ride and test it before the snow gets there.

Won't be delivered until mid December or later

Ok I tried! Didn’t know about delivery, thought you already had it. My bad!

5th gear has been pretty much useless from the beginning - unless you're boosted. Passing should always be done in 3rd or 4th gear depending on speed. Turbo's have been more popular over the years, and a turbo is a little more exciting to drive. Some people like the more linear power deliver of a supercharger and the little bit less install/maintenance of the overall package. No matter what your fuel mileage will go down as will your back tire life. But it's worth every penny.

I think I'm right behind you. Just paying for a backyard makeover first, the maybe a little Christmas present to myself....

Getting ready to boost. Can I store the hood on end without it deforming over time or is it best to store flat? Asking due to room limitations.
-
I had my hood laying flat...it is plastic.

Eric, I do not think that it makes any difference. Sling I and Sling II hoods have stayed open for months at a time and NEVER had a problem.

If you store the hood off the Slingshot flat on the ground for a long time, it will slightly tweak the hood and make it a little difficult to latch. When we are at Maggie Valley doing installs and the sit on the grass all day, they even slightly get tweaked. Although, once you put the hood back on and latch it, drive it around a little bit, it goes right back to normal.
We store all of the hoods we remove here vertically on custom mounts we have on the wall, keeps them clean and free from damage

Well started to get ready for SS. I decided to do alittle at a time since my broken shoulder still bothers me.

Very nice, but that garage is way too uncluttered - - you need to hang some junk on the walls and stack some junk in the corners
