@KayTwo i have a bunch of fittings at home so something i had but they are 1/8 male pipe thread to hose fitting. Can get at hardware i would have to measure the hose barb when i get home if you need. There's enough plastic on the tank to tap them i didn't even use pipe dope cause plastic to brass will seal it self.

Bill you know that chrome wont get you home. I am worried about our ride tomorrow...... gonna be sunny and I can't find my Ray Charles sunglasses to protect my eyes from all that chrome.
Just do what Bill does and ride with your eyes closed.

Phil don't scare him off before I ever even meet him - I prolly can do that on my own

If you guys will just be a little patient a little birdie told me Cycle Springs is coming out with a aluminum tank WITH a site glass. Imma gonna wait for that one! I will then have a brand new plastic one (just got it under warranty) I will be glad to send to any forum member that is in need.
Hey Bill that bird of yours has been chirping but doesn't know the time frame on that tank...does your bird give you more info than us?...hint

It has been fabricated while I visited the nest but site glass being added. I would guess it will be VERY shortly!

Do you have enough intel to be able to give us some basic comparisons to the product that DDM is putting out?

@Noel Hughes posted the latest pics of his coolant tank (with the sight glass) over on the other site. The newest pics start at post #39:

Fixed it. File this under "making it up as I go."
All you guys here are pretty smart, but maybe someone will come along behind me who's as dumb as I am, so I'll give a few details.
Small steam connection in back corner is what broke.
slingshotinfo.com/wcf/index.php?attachment/28870/
Picked up a brass connector from Tractor Supply:

The threads looked like they were about 1/2", but I didn't want to go straight to it. So I bored out the broken steam connection with a 3/8" bit, then went through the 29/64", 30/64", and 31/64" bits, testing the fit with each new diameter. At 31/64", I actually felt like I could use the brass fitting to self-tap the hole. I had intended to use Teflon tape, but I ended up not needing it.
It's reinstalled, initial OPTEST SAT. We'll see how it holds over the next few days, and if I end up not trusting the fix, I'll holler. Thanks to @MACAWS, @FunCycle, @Shatneyman, and @VIPNiSS for the offer of the loan of your tanks, and thanks to everyone else for advice.

Okay, admit it... @sideseatdriver did all this didn't she...

Nope. She was taking a break. And, she prefers the wrenching with directions. When it's one of the "make-this-up-as-I-go-and-hope-I-don't-make-it-worse-or-hurt-myself-in-the-process" deals, that's all me. She expressly denies all involvement with such jackassery.

Oh hell no! Anything that requires drilling holes into existing pieces/parts waits for @KayTwo so he can't blame anyone but himself if he effs it up.
And, if I would have done it, it'd be the new one from DDM.

Plus, I was just informed she's busy baking sugar cookies. So I have that going for me.
