I put these signs up because someone left an anonymous letter in my mailbox saying "do something about the dogs". No specifics. And no signature.

just something to think about. I have been told that putting up “beware of dog” signs can be used against you if your dog bites someone as evidence you knew the dog was dangerous. This is why my sign only says, “I can make it to the fence in 2.8 seconds, can you?” With a picture of a GSD.

Perhaps this would’ve been a better choice…

I am sure it's similar in the US
If your dog bites someone, that is the issue regardless of a sign. If they are trespassing on your property, that might be a valid defence.
Does a Beware of Dog sign protect you in Canada?
Can a “Beware of Dog” Sign Prevent Me from Suing a Dog's Owner? A warning sign does not necessarily prevent you from suing the dog's owner if it attacked you. You may still be able to seek compensation for your injuries. However, you may also be partially responsible for the accident because you disregarded the sign.

Just to be clear, I am 100% sure that my dogs were behind my fence barking at someone else walking their dogs and stopping to pee on my light pole (the dog pee-ing, not the person, although I can't be sure). I just happen to have a street light pole at the front of my driveway in my grass and everyone stops there. Even when I let my dogs out, that's the 1st place they run to answer pee-mail and then come right back in.

I can relate, I don't have a pee-pole out front, but my boy Bolt hates other dogs and goes a bit overboard with the barking when someone walks by with a dog and he really gets upset if they walk onto our yard. I actually have a secondary fence separating my primary back yard from the side yard just to keep bolt back from the front gate so that he doesnt get so upset - - Bolt has a very loud and big bark so it just works better this way

Zoe runs to the front fence when a dog walker goes by. The front gate is wide open and she will stand at the open gate and bark but will not go out. Being a 106 pound lab she scares some people but most have figured out she won't come out. She has been doing it for 12 years now and they got her petty well figured out. She use to go to the dog park and gets along well with other dogs she is just say hi to them as they go by. UPS man pulls into the drive and gets out and starts for the house and she barks up a storm and barks all the way to him then shands there and lets him pet her. After a few pets she shows her teeth and then walk back to me.
