Anyone know of a good website to find current road construction info on the roads around Maggie and Smoky’s? And/or can any locals chime in and give us a heads up on some roads we may want to avoid? Hoping NC and Ten don’t do the stinkin’ chip seal.

I have a buddy that I was stationed with who lives in Maggie Valley. I reached out to him for some info on this and he said there is nothing major right now.

If you are passing thru Knoxville on I-40 use caution. I understand that there is a "bump" on a bridge near Papermill that has caused some people to have issues. Especially with low profile tires. TDOT supposedly has adjusted the approaches to remove the hard edge. I haven't been over that section of freeway is a couple of months.

We’re driving the SS. Actually, Nancy is driving, I’m pulling the Denali behind the Ram.

OK. We are leaving Lenoir City Friday morning. Driving the Slingshot and another vehicle (Durango or HHR SS) if there is no rain forecasted for the weekend. If rain, the SS stays home in the garage under a blanket and we will travel in the Durango only.

Why not rent a trailer and tow the Sling, so you have one in MV to play with?

I am new Slingshot owner (purchased it 5 days ago). Not sure how to load a SS in a trailer with the single rear tire.

Thanks @D.W.Slusher and @pricejh61 , appreciate it. I found some info on NC DOT and TDOT website, doesn't appear to be anything major as far as I can tell.
@Akfinest 1 there is a thread "Trailers for the Slingshot in Polaris Slingshot Tech Center you may find helpful.

East TN WHY Trailer to MV???????? Easy one day ride for me from Northern Indiana... Some friends riding from Texas....
Need a open 7 x 14 ft trailer with a extra long ramp ... enclosed you need a minimum of 8 x 14 ...
I trailer in Jan to Florida but other than that I'm in the seat.
Mine is a dual axel but a single axel will work just fine.

There is bridge construction on I-40 E just beyond Newport , TN. It is down to 1 (one) lane East and West. We traveled that way this AM going to ride the "Rattler" and end up in Hot Springs for lunch. Stop and Go, probably lost 15/20 min. From the looks of it they won't be done any time soon... We were already in traffic before mile marker #442.

Do you know what lane is open eastbound? We'll be running 25E out of Corbin, KY to Newport, be jumping on 40 at the 432. Isn't the 442 right around Foothill Pkwy?

Right lane was open today. Think you are right on Pkwy. Believe #440 is last regular exit prior to closure.

k... thanks!

I-40 east of Asheville near Black Mountain was closed last night due to mud slides.
