Crappy new style
The 2015 batteries were beefier.
I am still running with the original 2015 battery, but I do ride the SS just about every day (53,000 miles). If you top off the water only use distilled water.
Mine gets drove plenty 1 1\2 years 40,000 miles

How much weight did that move save? Or are they figuring a motorcycle should have a battery that looks like a motorcycle battery?
I’ll be replacing mine with a same size battery as my ‘15 has now...when the time comes.
I just want to be able to handle lights and amp. Amps draw lots of power

BD: IMHO you would be making a mistake by replacing the OEM battery with the same size battery. Go with Optima Yellow or Blue.
That sounds like a good idea until you find out Polaris voids your warranty with that battery..I’ve had a few of them and I’m not crazy about them because of their special needs. And they don’t last any longer an a regular battery. Plus they cost too much. Just my opinion.

@Bigdog, what kinda special needs do a sealed battery need?

!!! The 2015 battery is not an SLA? You need to top it off with water? That is so Fred Flintstone.
Now, I am grouchy again, again, again. Polaris must have saved $5 by making our lives harder. Not happy.

I had one in a van and it died right before the 3 year warranty was up. Same life span as a wet one. Keeping them fully charged is critical because trying to revive one is a major project. Paying for one could get you 1 1/2 wet ones.
As good as the space shuttle was they abandoned it for regular rockets. My battery will always be wet.

As an administrator, I was wondering if you used to be on the old forum with a black box as your avatar or have ever entertained the thought of installing a lightning rod on your slingshot?
Just wondering.....
And, do you like Hawaiian seat covers?

No and I Just bought my SS in early may. And I hate sports. Could be why it was an untitled 2015 with 720 miles on it. It was a problem off the line That nobody wanted. Sooner or later I’ll have everything working like it should. People that haven’t had any problems are lucky.
