Let’s examine one policy, having NATO pay its fair share for defence.
Trump has played hard ball and said in no uncertain terms that is is not reasonable for the US to pay more per capita for European defence than the countries in NATO. The press and anti Trumpers suggest this is a threat to NATO and international order. You yourself seem to imply this in your list of Biden attributes.
However the end result is more European money in NATO and the NATO Secretary General praising his work.
So the press insists it was a risky failure but it certainly looks like pretty effective negotiations. Why expend US money defending Europe if they are unwilling to defend themselves? What exactly was at risk other than the sensibilities of career politicians who were exposed as useless?
