But even if you vote in person when you leave you are entrusting others to properly deliver your ballot to the place where it will be counted and then you are trusting that they will count it correctly
seriously if you mail your ballot the mail people will deliver it to the same place to be counted where the ballots are sent from the poling place
the only difference is who transports it from you to the counting location

How does a bank verify your signature on a check that you wrote?
I assume the computer has some kind of OCR (optical character recognition) software.
Kind of like what the USPS has in their mail sorting machines for hand filled out envelopes.

If the check doesn't bounce it must be good.

how do the verify the signature when you drop it in a box at a polling place? - - the fact it is not mailed and dropped in person does not make it much if any more secure
they check my signature when I walk in...after they verify my info and signature then they take me to a voting machine....if it’s a paper ballot then the poll workers verify the signature before that ballot is counted after the polls close...

They only verify the signature on a check if you contest it. I've forgotten to sign some checks and they cleared the bank just fine.

from what I can find only 6 states have a strict voter photo ID requirement - - most other states either have no ID requirement or a very lax non photo ID requirement.
I havent voted in person for several years, but in the past when I have all they did was ask my name and address where they then looked on their list and found me and marked it that i had voted
I would actually think that having my signature on file and then comparing it to the one on a mail in ballot is more secure than simply asking my name and address
In Michigan, ID is "required" to vote at the polls. Though if a person doesn't have theirs on them, they can sign an affidavit with name, address and signature. If it matches a name and address in that precinct that hasn't had a vote counted, they can vote.

are the mail in ballots returned to the places (precincts) where you voted to be verified and counted! Anybody that thinks this election isn't going to be crooked is goofy...Lack of verification, illegals given drivers licenses, duplicate ballots, lost ballots, incorrect ballots, missing ballots....mail problems, no standard voter ID...

I sent for a PA absentee ballot and the Application wanted my drivers license number and the last 4 SS numbers....I expect my identity to be stolen this week....

I was ready to puke listening to her today....now you know why Americans rejected her when she ran for president.....I was thinking RINO, flat out blatant democrat, traitor....Sadly there Is no cure for TDS....she’s highly infected and needs to be quarantined forever.....Trump called that one....LOL....
