we would be talking under $90 for one or around $180 for two. No difference in performance just looks.

1 strut would work mounted on the passenger side.

I would say 1 to keep costs down...
But how about on the passenger side?
1 strut would work mounted on the passenger side.
Uh huh...
Thanks Trent!

@Ruptured Duck their all CHEAP - both sides

I'll take one also. Looks good RD.

Hoping for a short timeline...after yesterdays long ride...a top is mandatory.

prototype strut lift system in place.
Questions to customers. I can do a single lift that you can mount to either side using a 60lbs strut.
For twice the retail price I can offer a set to balance the look using two 30lbs struts.
There is no unbalanced effect just using one. It's all about the look at this point.
Patrick...let me know when they are ready to ship. I am willing to get one early and do some real world testing for you!
-
also would like to add that the various load rated lift struts have also shipped to me for testing.
Will work on that accessory this weekend. Have 30lbs, 40lbs and 60lbs 7" struts on their way.
This can't happen soon enough! I'm falling in love with this top!!!

Totally agree!
I'll take one ad soon as you are ready.
But I need the first one.... I'm old, senile, crippled, have a bad back and still am better looking!!!! LOL!

I just want one.....! The top that will fit...
I'm tired of the discussion with the wife ,,, she just wants to order it and hope for the best for fitment on the F4+3..... -
@Ruptured Duck..... Patrick, does the single cylinder automatically raise the top when unlatched from the rear or is it an assist until open?

Have to change my order. Felicia would like one for hers as well.
2 please. -

@Painter it is an assist (balanced). With very little effort is rises and about 2/3rds the way does the work for you. I don't want anything springing forward uncontrolled.
Tina got to test it today and her feedback was "I control it, it doesn't control me". -
And, for God's sake @STYLN , got a sticker made that says " This Is NOT a Grab Bar" !!!!!!
Passenger already "modified mine just a bit. Fixed already but even though these are strong no tube this size will take the pull of a 260# College basketball player!!!!
painter, what side. Do you need another arm?
The instructions will clearly state this but I wonder if the sticker is needed?Hate to do it but if it turns out to be a common issue than I will need to do something.

"I control it, it doesn't control me".
doesn't is scare you when a women says that yo you?
Just kiddingI am enjoying watching this come to life. Great Job sir!

I'm working to source and order the struts now. E-mailed the supplier this morning (Sunday) and already received a response (US not a Chinese company). Very impressed.
If cost are good I'll order both 30lbs struts and 60lbs. This way someone can order two 30lifts rather than one 60lift if they really want them on both sides. I'll be OK selling them that way. Cost will be double but who am I to question how they spend it..... @Bill Martin.....

it's a little late for me to start being frugal now

Took another ride today.... My, my... this top is the greatest thing since sliced bread!!!!
Yes, I came back from Maggie with positive comments and a single suggestion which RD is already working on BUT, today I suddenly realized the heat in the floor has almost disappeared, I can see my radio screen, I'm not burning up from the sun (92 & sunny today), the ride seems so much cooler and I can wear a ball cap without pulling it down over my glasses!
The floorboard heat, I believe, is being sucked out with the different wind dynamics. The shade almost always hits my radio control screen making it bright and clear.
The whole cockpit is cooler as the top seems to shade 90% of it. The wind used to hit me hard at my forehead and now it is a smooth flow.At first I thought I was getting a lot of "Top Flap Noise" at higher speeds so I took off the top (All of 2 minutes work) and immediately went back out on the same trip at approx. the same speeds...... the Top once again wins!
Holy cow Patrick..... you are a friggn' genius!
