Be real interested to know what the swingarm fix is please???
My dealer told me "The good news is when your swingarm finally does come in it will be a complete swingarm assembly new bearings and all"
NOTE: That was over the phone without him even looking at my Sling

I was just thinking the same thing.

Took a few pics of my new swing arm today. Externally the only difference I see on the outside is the two square pads in the corners. Internally they look identical in the front bend area, mabey the metal is of a different material but that's only a guess.

I never got a letter either, I went to my dealer and asked him to put me down for first on list.
I am going to drop it off tonight, I will snap some pictures of new SA while I'm there, They will have it finished by tomorrow afternoon. -
just fired off an email to my dealer, that SOME dealers are getting swingarms and setting appointments. Still no letter, and I am sure that my dealer has nothing, but thought I would make a little noise, anyway.......

How are the new bearings designed?
-
Just called my dealer 12/16 Woohoo!!!
-
Bearings look solid, @ swingarm they are thick, @ wheel they look like thicker rollers but not 100% on that. Pictures were taken at dealer, tomorrow I will look at old swingarm when I pick it up, and be able to compare better. They have other new ones so I can side by side them.

My dealer got their first swing arm I today. Alas thou it's going on stock no sell units first. Probably won't get mine installed till end of Dec - early Feb. At least by then the mechanics will have plenty of practice doing them.

If you are referring to the pic IMG_0566, those are not welded on. This is a sand cast part, and those are where the runners (Gating) feed the pour into the sand mold. The runners with the risers will weigh about 50% of the swingarm weight. After sawing off the runners, there's no reason to grind them down flush as they only increase the strength of the area in the bend. When I started seeing these fail, I knew it was either dirt getting in the process (loose sand from the mold) or shrinkage in the aluminum from not being gated correctly. If the metal pours in too quickly, it will wash off some of the sand and cause problems. If it goes too slowly, the metal starts to chill before it has filled all the mold. That makes a weak spot, if bad enough will leave a hole in the casting.
And not to step on anyone's toes @BryanL, but to make any use of a zerk fitting you would need to change the bearing. Those are sealed from what I see in the pics.

Hmmmm, if they are there now, why are they not on original SA?.
About grease zerk, yes, these are sealed bearings so no way to grease them. If they had zerk fittings a lot of people would over do it and they would be dirt collectors.
