Good, I was looking at the post hours
DDMWorks Built Engine for Rabtech

No. Not yet. Work sucks. I had to work today and I am having to replace my wife's ABS sensor on her Mercedes. She has had no vehicle the last 4 days. I am almost done with it.
-
-
I finished her Mercedes. All is good now...
I was planning on doing this swap this weekend... I think I can start on Friday morning and have a long weekend and get it all done.
I will turn the air on and get it down to 64 degrees. I love it when the tools are so cold that you have to wear mechanics gloves to hold them.....

Glad you got that 20 min job taken care of. -
Yep. It sucks because it is a filthy job. You get that black brake mess all over everything.
-
-
20 min job and 3 hrs clean up. wish I could ride over Saturday , but just took on a repair for a co-worker in a bind .
I would love to hand you the ICE COLD wrenchs and sockets . Had to try and not give @Tripodany ammo to shhot with . -
Lots of pictures!

Well here is the start. I need to retitle this Rabtech's Shortcut on Engine Building.
Anyway. Here is the start. My wife actually came out to my garage in her nightgown to help me set my hood onto the bike lift. That is love. Or maybe she knows i won't be bothering her for the next day or two.

I need to get one of those Slingshotinfo banners for my shop do you have any to sell or should I just order one from StcikerDick
I notice that your first meal for the new heart included Lucas break in treatment. Was wondering if you use Lucas oil treatment with each oil change? I use it on all my small motors and my dually with 250 K. but haven't tried in the SS.
-
No. I don't use any additives in my normal oil changes. I asked @Dave@DDMWorks what I needed to do during break in and his recommendation was to put a bottle of this Lucas with zinc in the first break in oil.
Soon as the oil pressure comes up I'll be breaking it in like I normally do. Just like I stole it and the police was behind me. I am assuming that I can just pull the fuel pump fuse and leave the coil wires off and turn the starter over to prime the oil system with a bit of fresh oil....???
And the banner is somthing that @StickerDick made for the Maggie Valley event. He could knock you one out real fast I bet. I had mine rolled up and wasn't doing anything with it. This is a much better use for it....
-
let me know the size and I'll get it going ASAP
-
Hey @StickerDick did you ever have time to create a sample sticker of my shield logo that was small like the stickers I asked you to cut for me?
-
no.... which one was it? You have so many version it confuses's me?
-
-
Almost up to the part where you crack the ribs and reach for the heart...
-
That was the easy part lol.
That's the part of removing the engine where you go "meh, too easy" lol
Then the fun begins. Btw, don't forget to unplug your ecu and your positive battery connector before playing around with the live wire going to the starter... And make sure the battery cable is well away from the post.
Also, maybe there is another way to do it, but I had to purchase hangers that bolt on the head to attach the chains to pull the engine out.
-
I already have both batteries unhooked. once I get the valve cover off I am going to look at what I have to hook to....I have 4 chains that come down from the engine hoist angle adapter. they have 90 degree brackets with two holes in each one. I can grab the two holes that hold the fuel rail on one side _____ the other side I haven't figured out yet...... I will stare at it shortly....
I am going to leave the turbo on and the intake manifold in place.....I don't see where either is going to be close to the frame...and they will be much easier to take off once it is out and i can spin it around and get to everything....
Still sucks to have to remove the exhaust. And it sucks to have to drain the antifreeze... Is there a magic way to fill this system. I haven't read the service manual yet ,, I figured someone would have the perfect way to fill it and bleed the air out...
Im all ears...
