hate to bring the thread down with this info. However I had posted a few post about Allison's dad so I will keep all the info together.
Last night they removed all his meds and he passed away shortly after around 8:30....
Allison and her sisters made funeral arrangements today. I told her I would head home right after lunch today to start helping her move stuff. I also have to find someone to build an outside fenced in dog pin. And I have to go get his 2 dogs. .
His service is Wednesday at Pinkard Funeral Home. Visitation is at 1 and Memorial Service at 2

I do have a few good pictures of Lewis riding today.

Sorry my friend - but it seems he is at peace now.
Please let Allison know we are thinking of her. -

Thanks for running Cherohala with us today before you headed out. Let us know when you're home safe please.

I will. Lewis is actually tired. We stopped at i-75 and filled up. I got us a sub sandwich each and he fell asleep while I was pulling bite size piece off for him!!! You can see how tired he is in his eyes.

I pulled over in Stephenson AL and was checking my straps.
I knew better than to use anything except my LoadAll brand straps. Sure enough my tire strap snapped. And my slingshot had slid 3 feet forward.
Guess what.... we will carry the orange pieces of shit back to Tractor Supply next week. I brought my LoadAll good straps with me so were ok....

Glad you caught it before any significant damage occurred!
We finished dinner a little bit ago and came back to the motel and got ready to go. We are loaded, locked, and ready to rock. We won't set an alarm but whatever time we wake up we will head out. Thought about going ahead and going tonight but we will try to rest a bit first.

so sorry for you loss sir - our condolences for you and Allison - if you need any thing don't hesitate to let us know

Home safely in SC.
Bobby, glad you caught that strap issue before the situation got worse.
Tim & Shirley, drive safely tomorrow.
Pics to follow.

Day 1. Started around 40 degrees, never got above 50. Stayed in the general area around Murphy. These pics were taken at Hiawassee Dam.

Day 2: Mercury said 28 when I rolled out of my room at 0730 or so, but by the time breakfast was done, it was 42 or so. We saw upper 50s, but also a touch of a sprinkle of rain in the last hour on the way back to Murphy.
Said goodbye to Stacy & Erica after breakfast as they were heading home, and we headed out. 64W into TN, then would up through the woods to Tellico, ran the Cherohala to Robbinsville, where we said goodbye to @Dogs and @rabtech & Lewis so they could head back to Murphy faster, and then Tim and Shirl and Bill & I went up 129 and down 28 and took the scenic route through the Nantahala gorge back to Murphy.
Here's Lewis at a rest stop on the Cherohala, checking it out.
Then we have our pics from the stop on Cherohala
Left to right: @Ghost & @Ghost Ryder, @Dogs, @KayTwo, and @bill monch
But where was @rabtech?
A: Doing his own thing.
We ran into a gentleman there with a drone, who got all kinds of pictures of us.
He also got a sick video of Bobby doing a wicked burnout up the hill from the rest stop. It's posted elsewhere, but I can assure you it was ridiculous.

@KayTwo thank you for the pics and for arranging the trip. It was a really good way to get away from the daily grind. Lewis and I had so much fun.
I would brag on how good Lewis did during this trip but I think the pictures do a pretty good job.I cant belive that he has turned into such a perfect travel and slinshot buddy.

@KayTwo thank you for the pics and for arranging the trip.
Bobby, you're welcome, but there's really no arranging, per se. The date shows up on the calendar, and people just arrive in town ready to drive.
-
Lewis is actually smiling in this picture.

We arrived home about an 1.5hrs ago but as usual we went straight to work and forgot to let everyone know we got here safely. We had a great time and really enjoyed visiting with everyone. Also great to meet Richard, Bill and Jane.
