Has anyone gone with a 3" belt instead of the 2"? Just wondering if it's uncomfortable.
I am using 3" shoulders with PRP seats no real problem for me but I am only 5'7" just always wear a shirt with some sort of collar so the belts don't irritate your neck. Have hade them in passenger and drivers seats for about 4K
I will attempt a different approach installing the harness to the chassis with longer screws and several nuts per screw as to not cut thru pastic.
Hey buddy - go back and look at my pictures the cuts are easy. If you do it your way you will need to cut the plastic on the hoop trim pieces or check with your belt supplier to see if they have any mounting hardware.

Thanks Mitch ........phone call away!
Does the seat have to come out to connect the two lower belts?

If I remember correctly NO - you use the stock belt mounting points.
Ordered longer 8.8/ 12mm /1.75 bolts from fastenol to achieve this:
You're not concerned about wearing out the paint running it over the cover like that? Were the stock bolts too short?
Thanks
Once I finish I'll have pics. Hopefully I'll tackle that.

You can put some clear 3M vinyl on the painted surface so it doesn't get damaged.
Be fore you wrap everything up make sure that there is no upward tension against that trim piece under the roll hoop it is not that strong.
Pretty good idea I hope it works out then you will be the new S&M belt master......

Great news, that's a welcome change. Thanks
Mine just came in today.
Is there a video for installation or is it just the photographs? What tools were used etc.. I see some have different ideas. I am not going to get the bracket myself. I will probably use the bolts that are behind the seat.. I am leaning towards cutting the slot and going under the top painted plastic.

That's the route I'm taking. I'm showing I'm supposed to receive my harnesses this Thursday so.....another Project for the weekend
Had a bunch of spare belt parts from past projects and installed this today. Unfortunately I'm not sure I like it. Feels a bit uncomfortable, restrictive and makes it a pain to swing the seat forward to access the trunk.

The more I think about the more I think you're right anyway I'll see how it works out if not I'll cut.

Fly Buddy... that literally just helped me decide on what belts to get. Those are attached to the bottom belt so you can not disconnect them.
Nice seats by the way I will be getting my PRP seats this week. I hope they are going to look nice in my Slingshot!
I will be buying these!
BD...those are nice belts.. I may just try another set that's not permanently attached at the lapbelt.
So if I decide to do it the traditional way, How do you perform the cut with the trim in the way? Back to my original concern as to completely or partially remove the top panel to access the under lip add make the cut.

If you decided to install them and bring the belts under the main deck. You only have to cut a hole for the belt to slide thru inboard side. The belts you are using should be able to go under the deck on the outside belt without cutting. Mine were 3" plus had long mounting tabs so I had to notch the deck.
Capiche!
