Having a pretty sensitive nose, I'm a BIG fan of colognes and perfumes. You would think that a long ride in the Slingshot would evaporate and blow away any perfume/cologne you're wearing, but I've found that not to be the case if you go with good quality products. I've got quite a collection going and I tend to go with the expensive niche stuff because I don't like to smell like every other guy around who's wearing CK One or Acqua di Gio, or One Million (I actually like those scents, but I wouldn't wear them just because so many other guys do.)
Am I alone in this, or are there other fragrance heads here?
For those who don't know, here's an interesting fact:
Many people think that "Cologne" is for men, and "Perfume" is for women. That's not true at all. Those labels have nothing to do with whether it's a man's fragrance or a woman's fragrance. They are are actually used to indicate the relative strength of the scent. It's the ingredients in the scent that make it either feminine, unisex, or masculine in nature. There are perfumes for men and colognes for women. In fact the scent I mention below (Creed Aventus) is a perfume, but it's as masculine a scent as you'd ever want to smell.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
Eau Fraiche (Usually 3% or less perfume oil)
Eau de cologne - EDC (2 - 5% perfume oil)
Eau de toilette - EDT (4 - 10% perfume oil)
Eau de perfume - EDP (8 - 15% perfume oil)
Soie de perfume (15 - 18% perfume oil)
Perfume (15 - 25% -- also sometimes referred to as Extract or Extrait)
Perfume oil (15-30% perfume oil in an oil rather than alcohol base)
Creed is one of my favorite brands. Creed Aventus is probably my favorite scent of all time.
