just curious...is that for the ecotek motor or the new Polaris one?
I was told it was for the 20's. It shows up under open bulletins when I log on to polaris.
I was called by my dealer about it. It’s to reduce oil consumption that could shorten engine life.
It sounds like the PCV system may bypass some oil.
if it’s the GM motor there is a problem and NAPA has a simple fix but it requires some motor work.....

I know it says 1.4 but I did have a similar article saved but I can’t find it now that wad about the 2.4...

The 2020 has the Polaris 2.0 engine.
The 2020 has the Polaris 2.0 engine.
Some of the 2020's do have the 2.4 GM motor. Polaris had a few left over.
This is where I go to see the Service Bulletins that apply to our 2015, I am not sure abut the 2020:

No, none of the Actual 2020's have a GM motor. Some of the left over 2019's that they sold early in 2020 still had the GM motor. Got this info from Polaris.

Thanks, that is where I got the bulletin... I was wondering about the "meat" of the bulletin... what they will be doing?

probably pretending there is no problem...maybe they rushed the Polaris motor into use too fast....if the dealers start saying its typical....you’re screwed....
Remember, Polaris’ answer to EVERYTHING is, “that’s normal.”
Me: “The engine fell out of my Slingshot.”
Polaris: “That’s normal.”
following.
I've been trying to find more information on this as well. It would be nice to at least know what the problem really is.
I spoke too soon.
Just got off the phone with my local dealer. Basically, the PCV valve orifice is too large allowing oil consumption. The fix is to replace the PCV with a smaller one and increase the oil volume from 5 to 6 quarts. He has put the necessary parts on order. Hopefully Polaris gets it out in a timely manner....
So on the prostar we will be using 6 qts of oil and not five going forward?? Makes me wonder if I should just add a qt now while I am waiting for the fix?
Well, I found the meat of this bulletin... https://cdn.polarisportal.com/…20and%20PCV%20Fitting.pdf

Glad to see someone did! Strange to see "-- Confidential and Proprietary --" on something that should be widely distributed for the benefit of all. But hey... what do I know.
For the 2020... 2.0L engine.
So, you will be getting a new PCV and dip stick.
And oil changes will be six quarts of oil with filter change.
Until your dealer completes this requirement and you want to keep riding...
If your oil is at the full mark, add one quart of oil to bring your total to six quarts. Scribe a new mark at the new oil level on your dip stick and maintain your level between this new mark on your dipstick and the full mark on your dipstick. Check it before and during rides. Fill as needed.
Welcome to Polaris.
Building 'em right cause we build 'em twice.
are they putting on a deeper oil pan?
coincidence that the ecotek motor and the new Polaris motor would have oil consumption problems.....
