Tesla motor for small block Chevy replacement...If I don't sell the sling...this might happen. But the cost of that is going to be ridiculous after getting the controller and the batteries. I think the crate motor is $8k.

That article said it was $30k for the motor, and you'll need to get really creative to be able to put plenty of batteries in it to get a decent range out of it.
While I'd love to do something like this, it would end joy rides away from town, no way to recharge out in the sticks.

you can always find a way to get a can of gasoline ....you’ll never find a convenient way to carry a charge...
And you Always have to use fossil fuels to replace fossil fuels....

I have been eyeballing them for a little while. Looks like the price when up to $11K.

Although it seems like it offers more than it used to. But battery space is actually easy, depending on what you are willing to sacrifice. Between the engine Bay and cubbies, you would get enough to easily get 300 miles. Suspension would definitley need to be beefed up...but with what I currently have, it would be pretty easy and actually be more comfortable. With that being said...I can't imagine it would be worth it. 90% of slingshot owners don't ride more than 3 hours at a shot from what I have seen on here, so 300 miles would be a comfortable range.
