What is the name brand of the marine speakers you have? Thanks
-
I pulled out the forward speaker out of my pod the other day just to see what they were because my sling was modified by the previous owner. Are these stock?
Somehow I don’t think so. I actually have a set of Marine 6 1/2 inch speakers that I swapped out for a second and if this deaf man can tell I thought the marine ones were a tad better.
JL Audio is the possibly if not the best marine speaker brand out there. Those are fantastic speakers and very pricey

Sorry for all the nooby questions, but do those fit right in the current pods, or is there some modification that needs to be done? My current factory are in a pod with about 15 or more screws to take out to get to the speaker.

Glad I'm not into music. I never use my radio but sometimes use the USB for music. Unfortunately, the sling stopped recognizing the USB albums I had. Usb still works because I ripped a track and it plays. Too much effort to rip the case again since I have no internet connection to get the software. Ripping from windows media does not get album or artist info. Thanks Bill gates!

I have the 2016 OEM radio... All I use is Memory Sticks / USB for my music. Rip the disc to the computer and copy to USB and I get all the info. Haven't copy for a few months so things may have changed.

Using what software

Using what software
Window Media Player....
and 20 min later....
Just tried ---- The music has been on my computer for quite a while but sync to Memory Stick and all info comes up on the Slingshot screen.
-
Does on mine also. I only use the memory stick to listen to music as I don't like all songs by any artist. Now sometimes the Slingshot doesn't recognize the memory stick and I have to pull it out and replug it in so it reloads into the radio.

Hmmm, windows media player says artist unknown and no track info. I tried find album info and it claims you need internet.

I do have full internet on my computer. I need for my business, so that may be why it works for me. I have full internet for my business so that may be why it's working for me.

If I remember right, original speaker pods had Rockford Fosgate speakers.

Same here....I have somewhere around 1300 songs right now. Being able to store and play while offline is awesome. Just hit Shuffle Play and drive. 😎

You are correct, at least for the 2017 model year. I have my passenger pod removed as I'm awaiting parts for an excessively long time. A few years back I replaced my speakers and pods with an SSV set-up. The change was more so to gain some foot room in the clutch area. Here is what I found. The speaker pod does allow for slightly more foot room however most of any gain is negated with the speaker install. You can see the speaker cover/grill is raised above the pod. In fact I found after a short time the sharp edge of the speaker grill digs into the left foot ankle area. It may be possible to install a lower profile speaker or modify the box to get better results. There may be a slight sound advantage. I'm sure the sound advantage would be much better if you upgrade the stock stereo. In the end I chose to reinstall the stock speakers due to the smooth contour of the stock pod and the advantage of a better more comfortable leg rest area as stock.
I have found the best solution from my perspective was a Cardo Packtalk Bold intercom system (or other). You can install speakers inside the helmet. Hook up to bluetooth using Spotify, I heart radio or many others with great sound no matter what speed or what is going on around you. You can also use the intercom to communicate with a passenger or other riders and make phone calls. the transition between music and intercom is seamless. Another advantage is if you use multiple vehicles such as two slings or a motorcycle the system is completely mobile.
