Is the one on the bottom a diagnostic port?
Need some opinions on an area that is for members only

Haha...it is what I thought it was.
Gonna order mine so I'll have it installed b4 Maggie. -
Yep, I think the real goodies should be out of public view.
Fuel pump and computer port. -
So i was on the right track with my though pattern....
And the other part doesn't really have anything to do with the ECU... It may manipulate some of the stuff the ECU does......
Let me see if I can find a video...

NO!!!!

I think you are right Rab - if somebody wants to take advantage of the vast amount of knowledge available here the least they can do is sign up. That being said WTF are your new goodies
I agree
-
Your half right.... Line lock is one.... The other I was just going to show off in Maggie Valley but I cant do that to everyone... Any more guesses???? NO,,, KENNY DO NOT SPILL THE BEANS!
please tell me you are bringing an extra rear tire!

also you own the sight. You should know who is looking at stuff. I think it's a small price to pay for accessing knowledge. Also could you charge $14 and make sure we get extra adds

Seems to me people were complaining about the other site being too profit-oriented, yet now it is being proposed that only members can access here. Is that anyone who signs up or ONLY those who pay to support the site? I know it costs money to operate a site, yet this is the beginning of a slippery slope.

please know I was joking about the money thing...

I am not the most active member, probably cause my limited Sling knowledge. But I do refferance alot of the info here. I'm just starting to get mods underway so will be utilzing it more. It really comes down to two options and as a member I'm kinda split. For a true grass roots forum I can see the value of having to be a member to get to some of the real goodies. But being devil's advocate as this site grows are we going to limit people from signing up because they cant come visit and see all the value here before they decide to join ? Hard one, but I trust the brain trust's here will make the good decision.
Good job and thanks for everyone's input here.
As for guessing on new toys, I agree with some type of line lock and maybe some type of controller you plug into a lap top for active ride settings ? -

NOPE..... Never will it cost the member a penny to access any of this info..... I was just thinking they need to sign up and become a member....

I have no problem with requiring a simple member ship for access. Once folks find value, they hopefully will also support site operations.

And this issue was just a thought that came into my head....Dont want to "put off" anyone with the idea... I know the site is new and I want it to grow and grow........
I want to hear everyones input.... I can simply make the tech area visible to everyone and when you click on it (if your not signed in) it will say that you need to be a member or you need to sign in...
-
Kind of like the way we have the "NSFW" set up?

Yea,,, only users would not have to do anything to join that area... Just being a member would give them access....
-
We can all think about it... With Maggie Valley coming up I can wait to make any site changes.... Its not worth any confusion right now... But we can all talk about it in this thread...

I'm assuming that means that non-members can see the index for the tech area but need to be signed in to access a thread.
