You did NOT just go there Bill!
You did NOT just go there Bill!
I just couldn't help myself
sorry for the stupid question, but, if you replace the hoses with the hose kit, do you need to drain the fluids? Thinking about the full kit? Again, sorry and thank you
@Shatneyman yes you have to drain it
@Shatneyman yes you have to drain it
damn, thanks
@Shatneyman its really easy just find a pan that will slide under the frame thats at least 12x12 take hose of of the bottom of the radiator on the passanger side and bingo it all comes out.

That's sounds easy but what about filling it? Air in the line or an owner that is retarded?
@Shatneyman there is instructions on how to fill the system to get the air out. or if you haave access to a vacuum pump like i do
THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED

So, drain the radiator, put new hoses on and fill radiator with new fluid? What's a good choice in fluid and what about air in the lines? I'm clueless about this stuff, no dummy video out there for me, I checked. sorry and thanks. I would bring it to a mechanic, but I want to try it myself. You guys haven't let me down yet. Guess I should have taken auto shop in school
@Shatneyman here is the instructions from DDM on replacing the hoses and bleed procedure.
There is no drain on the radiator like a car just have to pull lower radiator hose and let drain. I would have to look and home of what i bought premixed to just pour in i can do that tonight

If I am not mistaken premix cost about twice as much as straight anti freeze at Walmart. Just a little bit of info to think about.
Follow-up to my broken surge tank woes: The dealership ordered the part for me based solely on the pictures I sent them, without having to look at the Sling first. Part took just over a week to get here. In the meantime, I've been driving the vehicle with the home remedy in place - no issues. I brought it to the dealer today, and they installed the new stock surge tank. They took off and returned the brass fitting that I had installed on the broken tank, at my request, but the broken tank went back to the Death Star for analysis or something. No comment whatsoever from the shop on the fact that I have the aftermarket silicone coolant hoses.
So, here I am with a new surge tank, waiting on a metal solution, whoever presents a good one and whenever that finally happens, and I am seriously considering drilling and tapping the new surge tank the exact same way I did on the broken one, just to give myself some reliability.
Looking forward to that metal tank, though. I'm pretty sold on the idea. And then I'll have a nearly-new surge tank, with a brass fitting for a steam line, to offer the next poor schmuck who breaks his. And again, I appreciate everyone who made the offer of help with your personal material.
I ordered new tank today
From DDM. I looked today and they were still backordered. Can you order and just be put on a back order list?
I ordered new tank today
I assume the DDM, since Cycle Springs' offering isn't on the market yet?
