Personally I think we have a lot of nuts around here!
I found gator brand at Autozone on the rack for $38 - I just didn't have the size with me but will go back later to pick some up.

Look what was waiting for me when I got home today! Threads look nice and clean. I don't know the country of origin on these but for what it's worth the Mcgard's are made in China. Thanks again Rabtech for the heads up.
FedEx came to deliver my lug nuts today. He actually thought I would accept a package that was torn open and had nothing in it! He called back to the terminal and found out they had the nuts there. He is delivering tomorrow. At least I'll have them on before I drive to OKC tomorrow night.

Sweeeeetttt. I love getting packages.
Last I knew they mc guards were made in Orchard Park, NY. Near where the buffalo bills stadium.
I went to the factory before. Lost my wheel key and they came out and matched one and sold me a replacement key

Always made in usa.
Bubba ...Where did you see they were made in China
Also just because the threads look clean doesn't mean they heat treated them properly our used better steel

The problem is not confined to FedEx - this UPS driver is also missing nuts...

I went to Amazon to check them out as like you suggested and because I like to learn at least one new thing a day. I am more then willing to spend good money for a quality component. I also like to get value for my dollar. I am no expert on heat treating or lug nuts. Although I did stay at a holiday inn... just kidding. When you buy on amazon you most always will find the country of origin where the product is made. If you scroll down to the description it will show you where the product is made. That's one of the things I like about shopping there. While I agree from your link they state proudly on their website they sell American made products someone might want to tell them that amazon has their lug nuts listed as made in China. http://www.amazon.com/McGard-6…694065&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2 BTW, I just looked at their website and they have a disclaimer "This product may contain globally sourced materials/components."
Ive seen the factory and the coatings plant myself. Used to work for the electric company that serves the plant
Here's the latest I bought to install on the sling
I bought a set of red anodized last year in Maggie they are now pink and covered with the red vinyl caps.
I have 5 extra black if anyone needs 'em. I can hand them off on the next ride.

Oh no say it's not so !
Is your Sling garage kept (out of the sun) usually that is caused by ultraviolet light

It is kept in the garage, but it is out every day with 24,100 miles as of today. It only sleeps when I sleep.
Just curious, why does one choose open vs closed end lugnuts?
Because "open" is easier?

.
Many race sanctions require open lug nuts so they can check the length of the wheel studs during tech without removing the lug nuts ..... its for the Ricky racer group on the street cause all it does is allow water intrusion on the threads unless capped ....
.
Oh and .....
Take care of your nuts and they will take care of you ......
..........
.
Also factory oem do open for clearance. Subaru ships with open
So I'm interested in changing the lug nuts based on this discussion here, but after looking at the stock setup, and the examples from a couple different sources, it appears the newer better lugs are going to extend some distance out of the wheel, compared to the current recessed ones. How much to they protrude, and how does it look?
