And the aforementioned hams. 10# apiece. And the 22# turkey going in tomorrow AM. Pies in the oven right now.
Looks so good! I’ll be dreaming about ham and pie all night.

It looks good in person also!
@KayTwo if room for 2 we are with painter
Sure, come on with your bad selves!
Not going to be able to make it. We'll be sitting in Maggie waiting for Fed Ex.
In light of tomorrows weather forecast and the fact that I am absolutely determined to be at the luncheon I have made the decision to drive down on 6 wheels instead of 3.
@adventure4me for me has expressed interest in riding along so that leaves 2 open seats. First come first serve.
We intend to leave the fair grounds at 9:00am SHARP.
I will cross post this in a couple different places to be sure that the first two people wanting to ride along will have the opportunity to give me a call and secure those seats.
My phone number is in my signature and you are welcome to call me up to midnite and anytime after 6:00am
I will update this and the other posts as soon as the seats are filled.
Updated local forecast for tomorrow. Much improved.
Whoopie pie shells and oatmeal cookies.... @bjk81 got his first @sideseatdriver cookie, concurs with the quality.

Wow! I never got a pig drunk just to eat it. But I like your approach. We'd usually just ride 'em 'till they drop then drag 'em to the BBQ pit.
I wonder if they counted how many cookies they have downstairs?

Want me to run another one up for you? LOL
Now yer just showin' off!
This reminds me of our beach family tradition of dessert first. The story is that one year, in the mid 70's, we planned on our Thanksgiving dinner at our family cabin on the Oregon coast. My mom and I left early since we had the turkey and needed to get it cooking before anything else. We barely made it over the coast range because of snow and ice. When we got there, we called back to town (no cell phones then) and told everyone 'don't come down, the weather is terrible. We'll come back to town and cook the turkey when we get there. We got back a couple hours later and put the turkey in the oven only to realize that it would be 4 or more hours until it was done. What we did have was all the desserts prepared ahead of time and decided to eat them while we watched football and waited for dinner to cook. Everyone realized that they enjoyed the desserts much more on an empty stomach, and a family tradition was started called 'dessert first'. For many years after that we would schedule our dessert first on Thanksgiving morning, then eat dinner later that day. It worked quite well as the children aged, got married, and had to move and choose among the inlaws, outlaws, etc. NObody had anything scheduled before noon so we could all get together and have our sugar-fest then move on to the dinner or dinners of your choice. Good times!
Enjoy your feast tomorrow, I know @KayTwo and @sideseatdriver have put everything they have into it and it will likely be the highlight of SSITS 2018. Cheers! Doug

That's a great story, thanks for sharing. I highly doubt it's the 'highlight' of anything, but we're hoping it's at least worth the gas money down and back, lol.
