  • @Slunglow this was the statement I was refering to. I just realized it was @Tripod that posted it. At the time the 5mins ago, could have been 5 mins ago, so I thought he posted. It does say "WHEN Drumph becomes President". Trump: Drumph is his real last name before he or his father changed it.

So he did change his timing somewhere along the line.

Oh ok gotcha, hell there is probably a couple more versions out there we could find if we searched long enough. Oh well it is more peaceful with him gone liberal or no liberal he was obnoxious and didn't play well with others unlike yourself sir.

  • Tom Hanks was asked about Trump getting elected as President, his reply;

“I think that man will be president right about the time when spaceships come down filled with dinosaurs in red capes,”

I am so waiting to see that! Who makes capes that big?

  • THE GINGHAM DRESS

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston and walked timidly without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office. The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard & probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge .

'We'd like to see the president,' the man said softly.

'He'll be busy all day,' the secretary snapped.

    'We'll wait,' the lady replied.

For hours the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away.

They didn't, and the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it was a chore she always regretted.

'Maybe if you see them for a few minutes, they'll leave,' she said to him!

He sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, and he detested gingham dresses and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office. The president, stern faced and with dignity, strutted toward the couple.

The lady told him, 'We had a son who attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. My husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere on campus.'

The president wasn't touched. He was shocked.

'Madam,' he said, gruffly, 'we can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery.'

'Oh, no,' the lady explained quickly. 'We don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard.'

The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit, then exclaimed, 'A building! Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical buildings here at Harvard.'

For a moment the lady was silent. The president was pleased. Maybe he could get rid of them now. The lady turned to her husband and said quietly, 'Is that all it cost to start a university? Why don't we just start our own? '

Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford got up and walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California where they established the university that bears their name, Stanford University, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.

--- A TRUE STORY by Malcolm Forbes
  • Awesome story but appears not to be based on facts...

  • I hate to be "that guy", but the Stanford origin story, while inspirational, is not true.

I only bring this up because, like many other "facts" posted from all sides on this thread, there's just enough truth to make you want to believe. Sorry, @EjFord, not picking on you (I've been misled many times myself), this was just an easy one to use as an example of the misinformation that can be found on the Internet. LOL, yes I realize that using information from the web to prove that it is full of misinformation is the definition of irony.

  • Hmm, "I will penalize companies that move their business outside the U.S. I will put heavy tariffs on any goods they try to bring here". IS NOW "If you threaten to leave the country I will pay you to stay". I know the math is complicated in any agreement and the whole discussion with this Government Contractor (Carrier/United Technologies Cor.) probably will never get revealed. Trump may have threatened government contract reductions...or offered bigger contracts.

I hope other big companies don't catch on to the "Trump Deal". If I had a BIG company I would now consider a U.S. departure, I would at least put the wheels in motion to get my big tax credit.

  • At least Trump is doing SOMETHING and he isn't even President yet. Other than his pen and phone Obama just sat back and watched - he reminds me of another famous Democrat....

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it
