I just installed a Wicked Hitch on my 2017 SLR. I noticed the draw bar will not go into the receiver without taking the tag off. Just wondering what others are doing for a tag bracket while pulling a trailer.
Tag Bracket With a Wicked Hitch
-
-
I don't have the hitch yet, but I was thinking if the draw bar can put on without taking the plate bracket off, you could mount the plate to the bracket with a piano hinge. Then just lift the plate as needed.
-
I made a side mount for my plate. I used the license plate light from the original plate holder and mounted it to the plate frame. I don't know what I did to my phone but, it won't let me upload a picture to show you. If I can get it working I'll post a pic. I do believe that Rich is making or has made a plate holder for the hitch.

This doesn't seem to be any good... If you want to take that Wycked hitch system off, I'll dive on the grenade and take it off your hands. That's just the kind of great guy I am! Just let me know, I'll PM you my address. -

One of my customers, Billy Duncan, just made this sweet "hinged" tag holder courtesy of ingenuity, experience, brain power, and Home Depot. (Dang, did I just shoot myself in the foot???) Super Job Billy, check is in the mail!

I installed the TricLED swingarm plate mount kit, got it off SlingMods, love it. You can mount the plate horizontally or vertically.
-
Using the Metrics Plate relocation kit that came with the rear fender. They'll sell it separately as well.

Not sure if you noticed it, but your missing your gas cap and other parts.

I've been thinking about my plate... Looking at tucked for about $20.... $75 for the TRIC one @KayTwo has seems pricey... @jorgebri60, how much is the one you have separately you think?
Do both if these require swingarm drilling?

Not only is this a reasonable priced alternative, it looks great and I promise you they stand behind their product.

@RichArlt, appreciate the offer, but the back of the Sling is nearly unblemished, save a dinged rear wheel. You can give it to @MiM, but charge him double.

I'll give you one to Beta Test, but you need to stage a rear end collision with a 1/2 ton Chevy so I can report the crash test results to our product liability insurance company! Shoot me a pm, I might have something for you!

@TheRock I'll have my hitch installed when we come down to Slingshot Uncorked in Clarksville VA, I needed to modify mine because of the Stealth fender (is for powder coding) @RichArlt I'll send you pictures like promised after is done. We had and have bad weather that's why it takes so long.
I'll gonna to have one of them mounted to it. -
I know this is a old thread but have a question, RichArlt or mytoy , my hitch opening,.. 2",.. is on a 45 degree angle, not flat or 90 degree,... I hope you understand! So how does your attachment sit flat and not on an angle? I have a drop receiver that works with my trailer, but looking at options. Thanks for the help
