I've been playing with playing with the idea of getting my ss tuned "mefi". But I don't want my factory ecu messed with, I have a few friends at a local gm dealer and they said I could get the ecu "same number" at cost. This pcm is blank, so I'm assuming the traction and stability control will not work. Is it possiable to copy the factory pcm to the blank?

Not sure about another ecu but having bob flash yours is not a problem. It will not mess with any of the information on your stock one with the exception of the tune. All you have to do is tell the dealer not to update anything dealing with the engine if they plug in.

No, unfortunately it wont work.... The pinouts in the ECU have been re-arranged in such a way that the standard ECU for a car will not work. Even if you flip it over and it has the same GM part number.
This is also the reason we don't have OBD2. Polaris uses a different CAN bus signal.
I would have had a stack of them if you could flash them to work in the SS..

Will the factory pcm come preprogrammed? Say if I ordered one from the dealer?
-
I would just have MEFI Bob tune the one you have. It is a lot of hassle and $$$ to get an extra ECM.
If you want it back to stock, just have the dealer flash the Polaris ECM current program over it.

You will not regret Bobs tune.
Just have all your factory updates done prior to sending it to Bob -
What's Bob charging now?

If you are NA (no boost), you can follow the Group Buy instructions that are out there and get it for $400.

Not sure if it's posted on this forum or not? But here's the original thread on TDS with all the details:

I had my ECU reflashed by Bob when I got my Alpha turbo a year ago. However, I am replacing the OEM manifold with a 1320 V2 header/manifold and will need to retune my ECM. Anyone know what a retune will cost or do I need to contact Bob?

I think it's pretty cheap - like $25 or so...

Folks: I currently have the Alpha turbo, 1320 V2 header, and Alpha turbo (2 1/2") side exit exhaust. It was tuned for that combination last year at SSITS by Bob. My question is: Do I need a reflash as I am replacing my Alpha turbo side exit exhaust with WP turbo duals? I would not think I would need one since the exhaust is still 2 1/2" in diameter but would appreciate some feedback.

No different tune will be required. Bob’s tune is really generic for the boosted application.

No update necessary. I just did the same thing, except I put the stealth on. Only time an update would be necessary would be if you were boosted and going from stock manifold to header. There’s an update for that.
