Unfortunately USAA will not insure motorcycles anymore (at least in FL). They sub to progressive (sub may not be right word). I had progressive direct, and was forced to go through USAA so I could get an umbrella policy. My price went up.......
Not the fan of USAA that I was thirty years ago.If somehow you do have USAA for the sling, would love to know how. My gut says you may live in a state that considers the sling a car.....but hope their is an option.
Thanks
Same thing here in Georgia. You have to pay Progressive separately for motorcycle insurance. I have USAA on everything else a well.

USAA paid through Progressive in AR.
2 Slings covered with 10,000 in accessories on one and 5,000 on the other. 950.00 a year. -

And I've never had any accident claims with them in 25 years. -

Have you tried St. Farm? Here in the Chicagoland area the rates maybe higher than other Ins. CO's, however we save $$ when it's put on suspension for these winter months. Don't know if that helps. Just a heads up.

to nipper 51, I would be curious what you pay in Chicago with state Farm. I live in Champaign, IL and the first year I had the Sling, State Farm said they would not insure it even though I have been with them for 35 years with cars and other bikes. I again check this time around and it was some thing that they would cover it but the coverage was so meager that the agent (my friend) said that I could get better/more comprehensive coverage else where.
let me know. -

Call Dan the Insurance Man! He not only knows what Slingshots are, he got me a policy with Allstate for about $600 a year! ( and yes @KayTwo you should at least get a quote, can't hurt ).
And he's located in TX so he represents most any state since he's an insurance broker that knows his way around. Got it?

Allstate won't write ANY motorcycle insurance in MA, pretty lame!

I have AIG. Got it through my Erie agent.... $530 if you paid the whole year at once... Another company wanted $1000+ and another wanted $1200 and another wanted $1500.
It's classified as a preformance bike...probably because of the 2384 CCs
