Ha Ha Ha!!! You get back home to New Mexico?
Display MoreI guess everyone has figured out that I'm home now and have some photos of this stuff. AGAIN,,, Words can't really describe some of these components... I can't believe that some of this stuff is real. It looks like jewelry its so refined. I honestly wasn't expecting to see this kind of metalwork. That isn't supposed to mean that I thought it was bad before. I just never had pictured it being this sexy. Yep , I said the sexy word.
I want to give this system an honest evaluation with lots of detailed pictures. I think I will start with the manifold. I had always had a bad taste in my mouth about hand fabricated headers being used on a turbo in such a tight space. I have had all kinds of headers and they are notorious for leaking, twisting, and heating up in certain spots more than others. i have tried ceramic coating and jet hot coating and they never seem to work as flawless as a cast manifold. That was one of the things I liked about my current turbo system. It had a cast log style manifold and it made me happy,..
Henry has made what appears to be some sort of Medusa hair looking hybrid manifold. It has this thick ass heavy plate that bolts to the engine and then it has tightly twisted header pipes that seem to be thick also. And at the other end he did the same heavy plate to bolt to the turbo. Yes,,, This makes me happy...... Because now I can have hand made headers that have some of the beefiest flange plates I have ever seen. And they are true and straight as a razors edge..... And look at the collector... It is some of the smoothest stuff I have seen. Im sure Henry will chime in and give more technical details. But ill do my best till he does.
Like the location of the sensor bung
The turbo is a Precision right? Is it the same model that Hahn uses?
I think I'm having naughty thoughts about this exhaust!!!!!!!
It is a precision turbo. And its a 55mm. But it is a different turbine housing. I don't have the last 2 numbers with me....
Ha Ha Ha!!! You get back home to New Mexico?
Not yet, gonna be awhile...
I think I'm having naughty thoughts about this exhaust!!!!!!!
It's kind of like mounting the mirrors on the headboard and the ceiling above the bed, huh? All that shiny reflection makes you want to do naughty things?
I believe I now have turbo envy!
Awww heck mount them both
Uh, is there something you two need to share with the forum?!?!
Now for the turbo porn as I refer to it. Here is the magic part that makes it all go...
And now for some heat shield action and some side exhaust pipe action.... I will show the turbo charge pipes and intake elbows once they are mounted...Most everyone has seen those pipes before.
The system comes with some really nice clamps....
He even has his logo on the air filter....
And here are some shots of the intercooler...
@rabtech, are you really going to tear your new DDM setup down to install the Alpha rig???
No no ... the engine is still DDM and solid as a rock. All I have to do is take my right side fender off and my right front tire off and roll my doctor stool up to that side and within a few minutes my current turbo, exhaust, and manifold are off. There are two clamps holding my intercooler on. The charge pipes just pop off once i loosen the clamps. So in a matter of a few hours it will be converted over to being fed by an Alpha system.
