Someone on here made cards that push back the safety on a gas pump. I ran into my first safety at Sheetz, what a pain. I'm willing to pay. Who got some for sale? Thanks.
Card to bypass the safety on a gas pump

Here's a link to the card I made that can be 3D printed:
https://www.printables.com/mod…apter-for-gas-pump-nozzle
I based it on dimensions supplied by Oomp.
Find someone with a 3D printer and have them print it with PETG or ABS (they'll know what that is). It takes about 35 min and is very cheap.

Got it Thanks

what is the safety? not sure I have every seen something up here in Canada on a gas pump that this contraption will bypass

The safety is a spring inside the rubber booty over the gas pump nozzle, that is compressed when you put the nozzle into your fill opening. In a car or truck, the nozzle needs to be pushed in enough to compress the spring(switch), to activate the pump. It is meant to ensure the opening is sealed while pumping, and I think it also will ensure that the pump will stop when the nozzle senses backpressure.
Because of the geometry of the Slingshot fill, the spring cannot be compressed, because you cannot push it far enough into the fill opening. The same applies to motorcycles, and filling gas cans for the mower.
The nozzle has a rib on it. Using the card, you push back the booty/spring past this rib, then slide the card to the side to hook it onto the rib.
I would not let go of the nozzle or the card, because it is over-riding the safety on the nozzle.

I live in California where all of our nozzles have had this feature" for a very long time now. I have always just used my left hand to hold the boot back when filling the Slingshot. with as little as the tank in the Slingshot is it doesn't take long to fill so this really is not a problem - - now if it had a 20 gallon tank I might want one of these cards, but as we all know its not even 10

Interesting. Never heard of it and have never seen it when traveling in the US.

Yes, we know. You post the same thing every time this topic comes up. I find your post very helpful. Thank you for your insight

Bypassing something like this in California sounds like a felony with a minimum 10yr sentence and $100k fine.

A hefty fine I’m sure but they don’t put people in jail anymore in CA - your good

It's a cone you have to push back so the pump works. On a car or truck, you can push the nozzle in the gas tank filler far enough to push the cone back, cant do it with the Slingshot.

Yeah, but those timeouts can be brutal!

It looks to me you could make a cut off PVC connector and even have a O Ring seal ,,
Cut the treads down and put O ring on that section..

What states are using these on their gas pumps?.....here in Illinois or surrounding states I have not seen any of these on the pumps.

They just started here in NJ a few yrs ago...When I fill the Slingshot and the Vanderhall I point the nozzle to center of vehicles
and little stress with hose but gas seems to flow better doing that..

in Hawaii, some places have them. Some don’t.

And all of them have slightly different pump nozzles.
