Don't ask me why, but I cleaned the inside and windshield so far. I KNOW it's gonna get dirty and probably wet along the way, but at least knowing it looked good when i left Daytona will be a slight plus. Might even get an extra .001 MPG from less wind resistance along the way.
Phil I may lend you some cleaning supplies.

Well I guess I'm not making it to MV. Kingsport TN hydroplaned. I am ok. Just sore as hell. Thought I was going to die. 75mph right lane head on into left center gaurd rail.
Eric sorry we won't be meeting in Maggie. Looks like the Windshield came thru OK. Rest looks like a mess.

And a reminder --- wet conditions 'nannies off & slow down' --- Turning off the Traction Control and ABS hold traction control button (just above gear pattern) until both the TC & ABS lights on the dash come on. Ride safe.

Yep tc was off. Riding too fast for conditions.

Kinda the reason I am staying home. Another reason was my wife just had a heart stent inserted and just precaution measure not to go.
There will always be another time, just not this one!
Really gonna miss seeing and meeting you guys, but will definitely be talking here.
Have fun and be safe

Dang. Sorry to hear AND see the reason for you not being in MV this year. So lucky to escape that crash just looking at the pics and the speeds you were going. I'm sure your life flashed through your mind quickly and you understand just how lucky you are to walk away from this one.
-
Guys, just remember from my experience. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. My second spin was around 5 mph, the nannies were off with standing water in a flood on an overpass. I am glad Eric is OK!
-
Sorry to say, but I think my slinging days are over. Daughter and girlfriend don't want me to get another. But maybe!

You have wrecked a car/truck, right? You are still driving one of those?

Yes, like the new black one but don't want the Polaris engine.

VV11B40 SO SORRY to hear this. Was looking forward to meeting you.
Strang part is I saw the sling heading north on 23 on a rollback near kingsport and somehow you were the first to cross my mind. Glad you walked away albeit a little sore. Hope to meet up down the road

Thanks EJ, but I'll have cleaning supplies. Just need some energy and motivation to reclean it after going 800 miles through inclement weather
-
Not looking to bust anyone's chops but In the post above VV11B40 mentioned he had the tc off but in hydroplane conditions it is most important to turn off stability control which IMO is the most important thing one can do to ride in heavy rain after slowing down. Maybe he had it off and failed to mention but I believe this is important info to pass on to others

I can bring a cattle prod if you think that might motivate you
Sorry Phil but I already started celebrating my arrival

Don't knock it Until you try it????

VV11B40, first of all so glad that you are OK. Sorry for the loss of your slingshot but you can always get another one with the 2.4. But last, I am sorry that we will not get to meet in MV. I was looking forward to thanking you in person for the PDF Service Manual you sent to me. Hope we can meet up again.
