Question Has anyone modified the frame to be able to pull trans without removing the motor? If so what mods did you do? Show pics.

.....I pulled my engine to change my blown up clutches but I haven't heard of ANYONE on here or else where of pulling their transmission without the engine coming out.....good luck with that....
...one thing for sure is this was the best mod I did on this vehicle, with the performance clutch Instead of the stock clutch .....thanks Dave@DDMWorks

Well yes I know you have to pull motor to get to the clutch. I want to see who has solved the issue of doing that because I just had to pay 3k to change the clutch which is just ridiculous because you have to pull the damn motor first. Why wouldn't you make a detachable crossmember brace that would let it just flop out the bottom?

Sorry you paid that much for the clutch swap labor. It really is not a hard job to do, especially on a stock slingshot without a turbo or supercharger. As to why Polaris didn't make it so the transmission could come out the bottom, I have no idea, I am guessing they also thought it was not a big deal to pull the engine. We obviously have done it a bunch here, but right now my personal record is 54 minutes from starting to jack the front of the Slingshot up to having the engine sitting on the ground. That entire job took less than 3 hours to do on a stock Slingshot, these really are the easiest vehicles we work on for this type of thing.

And than he will want AC.................
I have both Heat and Air and for the first time the heat has been on all winter. I just turn it down 72 degrees for the nights.

If you did a GoFundMe for FUNINTHESUN, I'm sure he'd buy a new Slingshot so he can be part of the group again

I put over a 1,000 miles on the Slingshot when we were in Port Charolette in Jan/Feb 2023... about 3 weeks.

.....WOW 54 minutes.... i would say i can jack it up and get a stock no mods engine out and clutch replaced and engine back in within a day unless my shepard requires some play time than 2 days.....but I agree it was easy with the right tools.....someone has asked me about changing their clutches out, I told him 500 to start 500 once I pull the engine and 500 once I'm done which I thought was fair so we will see......

As a residential painting contractor --- all my work is done on a 'contract price' so everybody knows the cost before I start. That way I have no problem collecting my money.

For that price, why do it yourself? Unless your a masochist!

Some guys actually like doing this kind of work and some guys would rather spend their money on something else if they're capable. My attitude is if I can do something and I enjoy doing it, I do it. If I can't do something or don't enjoy doing it, I pay. Dave@DDMWorks price is right on the cusp for me. That seems really reasonable but it's a chunk of change. Coin toss for me, which means I'd probably pay the freight.

I have always done my own work, but now I can no longer do it. That is why my 1935 Ford is still sitting in the playroom since the 2005 back surgery...The new radiator is still sitting in the back seat since then.
