Looking at the 4th light for the GloRyder Slingshot kit, it appears that the only way I can get it to work will be to shave down the tips of the nuts so I can slide the collar -- what issues might I run into in the long term? Will this impact the ability to check the torque is proper - I don't think so because the wrench should have enough to grab onto but when it comes to your nuts it is always better being safe then sorry

Don't think you would get the same light effect from the pulley side.
Another option would be to use the hollow of axle with a fabricated expanding shaft to attach the gloryder
